Peterborough Panthers 2016

Before becoming a Promoter Ged ran his own team called "Motive" for riders Carl W, Danny Philipps and Oustergaard.

I think his company in Middlesborough is called Motive and he just sponsored these riders from their Redcar connection.

Leaving aside the question of averages - simply because we don't know who will fit whatever the limit is going to be - I'd like to see at least some of this year's riders kept on:

Ostergaard: Yes. Ulrich must surely be nailed on

Simon Lambert: Yes. I hope he stays, but his average now is a bit awkward

Barker: Yes. We need riders who can win heats home & away.

Toft: Maybe. Based on his form earlier on it'd be a big Yes. But he dropped off a bit, so only a Maybe.

Konopka: Maybe. A 3 pointer is needed and unlikely to find anybody much better (?)

Thomsen: Yes. A no-brainer, but seems unlikely.

Grondal: Yes. Another cert, surely.

One thing I really can say with absolute certainty about team-building: I've got a lot more confidence these days with Ged in charge. :t:

Why would Konopka do any better on better equipment? He can't stay on his slow ones. Surely he would fall off even more on faster ones

It's like years ago when French GP rider Christian Sarron wanted to move from 250's to 500's. Aussie rider Wayne Gardner said "all it means is that they'll throw him further up the track when he highsides"

Fans Forum

PETERBOROUGH bosses have promised to put supporters in the picture for 2016 after announcing an East of England Showground fans' forum.

The full Readypower Panthers management team - promoter Ged Rathbone, co-promoter Trevor Swales, and joint team bosses Dale Allitt and Carl Johnson - will be present at the event on Tuesday (October 13, 8pm start).

They intend to chat openly about their plans for the future and will also take on board suggestions from supporters.

Rathbone said: "We are coming to the end of what has been a very pleasing season.

"Regardless of whether or not we succeed in reaching the Premier League Grand Final, there is no doubt in my mind that 2015 can be classed as a success.

"I feel the decision to fight so hard to keep the club going has been vindicated and the large crowds seen at recent meetings fill me with optimism for the future.

"Our thoughts are already turning to 2016 and we want to keep supporters in the loop about our ideas to take the club forward.

"We are also open to any suggestions they may have to help us enhance the Peterborough Speedway experience.

"All members of the management team will be present to share their thoughts on the present and the future, as well as to take questions from the floor."

Entry to the fans' forum, which will take place in the Peterborough Suite, is free.

Why? Pretty fair question I thought!

It is a question that I cannot añswer nor can most Panthers fans. What I do know is that last year we were in danger of folding, something I do not wish on any team. Like most clubs they have to rely on promoters, sponsors and indeed fans to survive.perhaps he can say why he has singled out our club when others will have similar questioñs to àsk at the end of the season.

Nice to hear a promoter sayimg he is open to suggestions and willing to listen to supporters........ his paying pubic

Ged has been fantastic all season and brought the fans closer to the club than any promoter I have known. Last week, for example, there was a speedway bike parked next to the stand that añyone could sit on and have their photos taken. You should have seen the faces on the young ones as they sat on the bike. Yes I was a big kid myself as well.

4) Conveyorbelt of Scandinavian u21 ringers

5) Robert Lambert - see no1 and no3

6)Rafa K - if at first you dont score points try and try again.

7)Rafa Ks grandad - so Rafa wont be the worst in the team and will build his confidence.

Yes, I must say, Mr Taps, we appreciate your involvement on the creative side, but, sadly, the Panthers team builder job description does not include the requirement "Must have intellectual capacity of a boiled potato." Now, return to your tractor and drive off to where the sun don’t shine if you please :)
