Peterborough Panthers 2016

Fair enough then..as long as its not health and safety.. While I'm on that subject a certain Mr Swales was breaking health and safety rules yesterday by watching at least 3 heats standing at the top of the stand despite numerous announcements about doing it...I think he should be arrested by the health and safety police.

The Two Day Motor Cycle News Festival of Motorcycling is being held that weekend with the Transatlantic Trophy Flat Track Races between Great Britain and the USA listed as one of the main attractions. I would imagine the chances of getting the track re prepared and the Showground cleared before the mass influx of Speedway Fans so the match can start at a "reasonable hour" are pretty remote.

Motor Cycle News festival weekend surprised it's taken so long to cancel it . I asked the question weeks ago but nobody responded to my query

Basically because up until this morning it was still going ahead at 7.30pm, logistics of the MCN event packing up has caused the postponement.

Although Panthers tried to get this meeting on for next sunday , and the late cancelation must be down to our showground landlords, I've got a feeling Ged will not be very happy about it, we need the continuity and for our landlords to originally grant this date for speedway only to call it off at one weeks notice is diabolical it's not the first time the've done it . In reality the date should not have been on the fixture list in the first place. Looks to me like the showground management don't give a toss about speedway but they are quite happy to keep taking rental fees whenever it suits them to allow speedway meetings.

Is it not possible the fixture next Sunday has been called off for the same reason as the Newcastle versus Somerset meeting was called off...........

I know it's many miles away, but there is a semi final of the British championship taking place the same day.

Probably better to check the facts, it may be down to the bspa, not your landlords.

Suggest you take a look at the Rye House website

Sorry, forgot, the Danish championship rounds will affect panthers and rye more than the meeting at Glasgow on Sunday.

My point was really about this continual bad mouthing of your landlords, where would British speedway be without the showground, let alone the panthers.

Tom Perry gets his first average this week which if I'm bit mistaken moves him into the main body of the team.

If true another masterstroke from the bspa

you are, stays at 7 all year on a 3

I wouldn't call it bad mouthing , just stating a fact that care has not been taken over the planning of this fixture, it's not the first time it has happened and the fixture was planned right from the start pre season, regardless who is to blame , it doesn't look good .Regarding the British championship round in Glasgow ,I can't see what effect a meeting 325 miles away would have on a meeting in Peterborough

Funny thing, remember a few seasons ago Glasgow weren't allowed to run on a Sunday, because there was a 4 team tournament thing on at the show ground.

Anyway isn't it just easier to blame the bspa for everything

Would it not have been more prudent of the panthers promotion to just not arrange a fixture in the first place rather than work with tight timings?

Don't believe for a second this booking from mcn was taken at short notice.

Why is it always someone else's fault, can't you're own promoter ever be to blame??

Considering the events of 2010 and the threat of closure a couple of times since without too much apparent concern from those up top I'd say that British Speedway would muddle on through regardless.

As for badmouthing, there was none until the new breed arrived in 2002. We were primary users of the EoES and felt valued. Friday night was speedway night without exception and it was great. Now we have as and when speedway, have been through several promotions, fixture problems, financial disasters and BSPA rulings all making life extremely difficult but we need to look closer to home
