Peterborough Panthers 2016

Recommended Posts

I saw it mentioned somewhere yesterday (maybe on here but if I'm wrong someone can correct me) that as he's not riding for us this year, then it has nothing to do with Edinburgh, it's up to Belle Vue as they signed him first.

Ridiculous if true, but then again, that's speedway!

6.7 The permission of the Promotion on whose retained list a rider appears must be sought before being loaned to another Promotion.

If panthers had been as quick to make changes last year they might have done better, instead of manipulating at guest at number one for months, what goes around comes around eh? :) bspa has bent over backwards for you lot.... Never bloody happy :)

Absolutely shocking decision, I was just discussing with my Dad last night that we will have to get ourselves over to Peterborough for a couple of meetings this season now - 2 Extra paying adults a minimum of twice when normally we just head to Lynn - And its in the interest of British Speedway? Do me a favour!!!

This is exactly why speedway needs to be governed by an independent body that has no connection to a particular club or clubs. The reason behind this move being blocked is as clear as mud - quoting a not fit for purpose rule book that can clearly be manipulated to suit the situation, just leaves the BSPA (rightly or wrongly) open to accusation that there are self interests at play here.

Clarity is needed urgently, if this has been done for valid and robust reasons than for god's sake explain them otherwise what's left of the credibility of the BSPA will diminish to dust. As ever it's the two most important components of speedway, the paying public and the riders that are left scratching their heads.

Time for those in charge to man up and stop burying their heads in the sand.

Realistically, should Elite League Heat Leaders be allowed to ride in the lower league?

Yes? No? Don't know?

I personally think they shouldn't be allowed to ride in the lower league.

No matter what nationality.

I think British riders should be allowed to ride in BOTH leagues, much as happens in Sweden, irrespective of their average or status.
