Peterborough Panthers 2016

Recommended Posts

See that number fans are discussing that Nicklas Porsing has signed for Polish club Stal Rzeszow. I was involved with Nicklas in him agreeing to sign for Rzeszow, our agreement with the Club was that Peterborough meetings take precedence over any of their meetings. We gave them all the Peterborough fixtures so they are clear when/not available. At present he is available to ride for them for 8 meetings and depending on play off situation/dates for both clubs he may also be able to ride for them in any play offs. Before signing in Poland, we discussed this with Dale and he was happy for us to continue. At present the only meeting clash is a PL away meeting at Ipswich. This clashes with a meeting for Vargarna in Sweden. Vargarna had this date in diary first, so under FIM rules they have precedence. However Peterborough are trying to see if this meeting can be changed. So Nicklas will be doing all Peterborough meetings except Ipswich away, if this cannot be changed. I hope this gives you peace of mind, that Nicklas is fully committed to Peterborough. Originally he was doing Peterborough, Vargarna Sweden and Denmark. However signing in Poland fits in better than doing Denmark. So Nicklas will only ride in Denmark on the odd occasion that a club needs a guest and the fixture fits in with rest of his schedule. Many thanks - David Wootton - Nicklas Porsing manager

Thanks for that much appreciated

I wouldn't have signed him.

must admit nor would I when panthers have near on 2 pts to play with , can't possibly see how he can improve anymore ,he was on PJR rockeships last season that's what bought about the big average increase ,can't see how he'll get better this season (I hope I'm wrong tho)

It makes no sense having a 5 pointer who will miss a minimum of 9 meetings when we have 1.87 to play with

It does if they can't find or strike the right deal with someone else. Where has everyone's faith in Ged gone?

Not everyone, only the usual suspects.

Well deserved award - especially as not from these parts...

I'm knocking him (I'm usually 1 who has 100% faith in him and admire what he's done last couple of seasons ) but signing 6 riders without having a no1 in place is bonkers (if they were relying on bjerre that's even more bonkers) ,and wasn't it ged who said we need a no1 in previous articles before porsing signed ??? no doubt they've signed a exciting side (at least 3 will improve there averages by a mile ) but coming in near 2pts under limit when a average rider will miss numerous meetings :nono: I expect lambert to go to reserve after 1st set of greensheets that's when frailties will show up when he's missing at reserve

Totally agree with this.

I kind of agree but still have love for the supremo!..but hey look what happened last season...someone will get injured or sacked in the first month and we will have to adjust the team anyway so at least we have them 2 pts in the bank....if it works like that when u have to re-declare?

Before first set of averages are released.

What's so frustrating is that everyone can see we are one change away from being a very good side. Nothing against Simon but I can't see any improvement in his average - and now he is missing 9 matches.

I can see your point of view but who is there out there that would be an improvement on S. Lambert. Personally I would stick with him and see how things work out. Remember he's signed a contract to ride for Panthers and Ged must have been aware of the possibility of him doubling up, at that time so I think it is morally wrong to try and replace him under the circumstances. As for signing a NO1 , it was never likely as there was nobody really out there to pick from , Ged did his best to get K Bjerre but I think that was a long shot but with the amount of matches we would have to replace him with a N/L rider it wasn't worth it . Trust in Ged he's never let us down yet
