Newcastle Announcement 27 September

Recommended Posts

Teams with 'visa' riders in their plans will need to get them sorted asap, plus there could be a change in the number of PL teams (and consequently EL teams) which could affect the team-building limit!?

There`s a very real prospect in the change of numbers in the PL, not sure why that would have a knock on affect for the EL. I am sure they would love the likes of Glasgow there, but their promotion have already committed to another season in the PL.

So the big news that required a pre-statement statement is that actually, nothing is changing. When will speedway people realise what constitutes big news?!

If I go into work tomorrow and tell my boss I has some big news to tell him and that i'll let him know in 2 weeks and then in 2 weeks time I tell him, "I'm not quitting" he'd think I'm bonkers, thats all this is!

Anything that guarantees a speedway track for the next five years is good news and should be welcomed, for some of us next season is a million miles away right now.

Hit the nail on the head. Bet there's a big crowd at Brough to hear the announcement tonight though.

What a doom and gloom merchant you are. As of tonight there would not have been a contract in place that allowed us to run speedway at Newcastle. The announcement was to inform, and confirm, that the promotion is prepared to run speedway at Brough, and with more favourable terms after some tough but fruitful negotiations. So it is changing despite your stupid comment.

With some of your 'shock' comments, I think your boss probably already thinks you are bonkers. Live in the real world, not the dark world.

This agreement was needed before any commitment could be made to the BSPA about us running, and informs riders that we are running and there will be team places to be offered. It also confirms to fans that have a team to watch next year, don't you wish Newport could say the same eh. This had to be step one before signings, league participation, and future plans could be formalised.

It may be not big news to you. but tough.

Why shouldn't there be. There has been rumours of not running posted on here, and other social media, so the announcement was to formally announce to those who are more important, and actually go to our speedway. To ignore it, some silly critics like you would possibly has said 'there should be some formal announcement'. So there has been, so you can move along now, nothing to see here.
