Gazc
Another meeting lucky to get to the magic heat 10 To be fair the track was tricky from the outset improved slightly then we had a very heavy shower just before heat 10 which saturated an already greasy track so not really surprising considering the score at that stage. Probably the worst meeting i have seen in a long time, Kennett apart in one race watching the Tigers half a lap ahead in most races was not good entertainment. Lambert and Jakobsen were already carrying injuries before last night as are Lykke and Maassen so it was always going to be a struggle after going all that way straight after a home double header. It reminds me of some of the awful teams Glasgow put out in the Blantyre days. So are you saying Rye House are the modern day Glasgow . Don't really remember the Blantyre day's much and can't remember going to Craighead park at all but looking back we were a one man team in those day's happily it is moving in the right direction now. Craighead Park was 30 years ago! Today was inexcusable, i dont believe for a minute that no other PL riders werent available. Despite the threat of rain it was another thoroughly decent crowd thanks to a Groupon offer and some promotional work in the city centre during the week. Those punters couldnt have had a worse introduction to speedway, some noticably left around ht8. A BSPA fine should issued for fielding an under strength side. Injuries happen but FFS this was as poor as it gets.

Rye House have previous at Glasgow , remember McAllan and Ksiezak being the Rockets duo in the PL Pairs
ruckerroo
The stench coming out of rye these days is whiffy in the extreme, being run down the khazi at the minute
Chris
Surely Rye will be fined for an under strength side? Disgrace, but expected from Silver. What a joke the club is.

Falcon Hammer
TBF After the Rockets v Somerset meeting, John Sampford was livid after not been able to get any guests for this meeting, went through a list of Northern tracks & said he couldn't get a guest from any of them

george.m
Do you not think the paying spectators at Ashfield this afternoon are being short changed by the Rockets choice of guests to replace Bowen ( a junior who is not even an NL regular starter) and Jakobsen (a 3pt PL rider). ? If Rockets did really try to get better options such as Doolan/Hansen for Busk and Ashley Morris/Perry for Bowen, then it's unfortunate they failed. But there is no getting away from this being a one sided contest from the outset. Yes we were short-changed.

John Samford would've had to phone around after the meeting finished around 10pm. I've been told he had numerous knock backs from PL riders and eight of the NL teams were racing today too, so what was he s'posed to do at such short notice?I remember the mid 2000's when full strength teams would turn up at Rye House and struggle to reach 30 points. Gazc
Glasgow fans complaining about team strengths after the absoloute horses**t teams they have put out in the last few years!!! The irony Not complaining not really a lot Rye could do at such short notice but it was by far & away the worst meeting that i have seen and the fan's were short changed with zero entertainment value whatsoever. Teams put together are done on budget's to suit this year we are in the privileged position to afford a half decent team, years gone by we didn't would you rather we put together a team we couldn't afford and maybe close or put one together that was sustainable but not that strong a no brainer i'm afraid.

Put out a press release apologising for an understrength team, the injuries were beyond Rye's control and various named riders turned down the booking. Or words to that effect.
