Shadders
Not complaining not really a lot Rye could do at such short notice but it was by far & away the worst meeting that i have seen and the fan's were short changed with zero entertainment value whatsoever. Teams put together are done on budget's to suit this year we are in the privileged position to afford a half decent team, years gone by we didn't would you rather we put together a team we couldn't afford and maybe close or put one together that was sustainable but not that strong a no brainer i'm afraid. The Rockets 2015 side has been plagued by injuries virtually since the start of the season. We haven't been able to put out the named 1-7 since late March. Boxall, Lykke and Mellgren have all had long term injuries at one stage or another. Luke Bowen quit and left us in the sh*t. Aspegren had time off when his partner gave birth to their first child. He's not been the same since. We even lost Edward Kennett for a few meetings with the ridiculous "deal" between Len Silver and Lakeside. Lykke, Jakobsen, Lambert & Maassen have been carrying injuries for weeks. Anders Mellgren is riding with a steel rod in his back after breaking it. The only rider who's escaped injury has been Edward Kennett. Rockets fans have had to put up with this all year and you're complaining about one poor meeting. If it wasn't for your rich benefactors you'd have weeds growing over your track and have sod all speedway to watch.... Glasgow fans can count themselves lucky. george.m
2009-2010 take your pic. Ah! When you said last few years, I thought you meant last few years! But anyway: 2010 - Joe Screen, Travis McGowan, Josh Grajczonek, Nick Morris, James Grieves, etc 2009 - Shane Parker (we're not worthy!), Josh Grajczonek, James Grieves Yeah, horsesh!t. Aye, right! Not the only team to be plagued by injuries we have all had them at some point and yes we are lucky that we got the new owner's when we did or we probably would have no Speedway to watch at Glasgow. And yes i am complaining about the meeting as it was absolute dross regardless if i paid £5,£10.or the £15 it cost it is my perrogative and any other paying supporter to say it how it they see it and that was dross as i say Rye were stuck between a rock and a hard place after last night with injuries. But it was worse than a poor meeting Kennet & to a lesser extent Lykke watching rider's more than half a lap behind does not represent good value but not a lot you can do about it due to the issues Rye faced being honest they probably could have done without it after the double header last night and how it unfolded fair play to Eddie Kennett though apologising to Stewart Dickson on bringing such a weak team.

From my POV it's not really a complaint directed at Rye House, just a general frustration with our sport and the speedway/weather gods. SharpenRake
As everyone says this was not entertainment as we know it. To be fair the track was difficult to begin with due to the weather and its probably the first time that some of the Rye guests have ever seen dirt as they are normally in the 2nd half when tracks have slickened off. Just hope it hasn't put off newcomers/returnees as the Glasgow promotion continue to try and 'promote' the sport Anyway we coiuld look on the bright side if the meeting had been postponed it could have been re-scheduled AFTER the play-offs.
Gazc
From my POV it's not really a complaint directed at Rye House, just a general frustration with our sport and the speedway/weather gods. Rye House tried to get suitable guest's so not really a lot they can do about it if they are knocked back, the circumstance they found themselves in could have and i dare say has happened to other teams. You are right though it is the way the sport in general is being damaged for the spectator I am almost sure if Shads or any Rye supporter had travelled up they would have felt short changed but as i say nothing more Rye could have done they attempted to get guest's and none were willing for whatever reason. Bash
Off subject are the meetings filmed at Glasgow this year? If so can anybody give me details to their website. Many Thanks.
damosuzuki
Well, I was there and it was poor. The worst meeting I've seen this season. And I remember Blantyre (vaguely). BUT Speedway is hard on itself. I've paid 20 odd quid to watch my football team humped 1-7 in minus two temperatures on a Sunday night to suit TV. Absolutely bloody miserable. With added fan scuffling and abuse to finish it all off. Ashfield is a lovely stadium, craic and the pies were good + no embarrassment or injury pre the big dump meeting. baba
Shads thats really a post I wouldn't have expected to see from yourself. I could say if it wasn't for uncle len then what would have happened to your club? We are lucky to have the Facena's on board but believe me we've had our poor times we've faced closure and uncertainty about our future and now we can dream about the future. As others have said its not a dig at rye, injuries happen time scales and rules were against you today and we can only race who's in front of us but today wasn't great viewing. If yous guys were at full strength today then it would have been what we wanted to see a proper contest, good luck for next year shads its been a tough season injurie wise for alot of teams, hope ryehouse come to ashfield next year at full strength so we can beat you's and actually feel good about it.
Shadders
Shads thats really a post I wouldn't have expected to see from yourself. I could say if it wasn't for uncle len then what would have happened to your club? What d'ya expect on the back of watching four defeats in three days? We'd most probably be very similar to Buxton if Len Silver hadn't pitched up
Ben91
Until there's a press release from the club confirming that nobody was willing to guest at this short notice then it's all just internet speculation. When you're racing three meetings in three days you need stand by riders on hand. Who was supposed to be Dan Greenwood's replacement originally? It probably was MacDonald and that in itself is far from being good enough. Somerset and Plymouth were at Rye on Saturday night, out of all those riders only Garcia was willing to take a guest booking? Fisher takes loads of guest bookings in the north, was he asked? I'd be very surprised if we are not reprimanded for this.
MANSE
My guess is it was the rate that Silver offered is why nobody was interested in the guest bookings

RobMcCaffery
Even more surprising then Obviously I can't say that for certain but normal business practice is that if you have someone manage part of your business for you you usually give them a budget to spend. Logic isn't that frequent a visitor to Rye House however. The indication was that Silver was supposed to be managing the speedway side of the business. Are you saying he's not the manager and just the guy who does the track and gives a bit of advice? Now THAT would be even more surprising.
