BluPanther
There are plans to knock down the home straight stand and replace it.. but whats next? and will Speedway be part of that? I'm surprised its still there, it must be a considerable fire risk...
TB1
There are plans to knock down the home straight stand and replace it.. but whats next? and will Speedway be part of that? Presumably speedway stills generates considerable coffers for spedeworth not just in stadium rent but food and drink sales. And I guess that if they replaced speedway with extra stock car meetings they wouldn't get that extra rent. Also I guess that not every stock car meeting is full to the rafters just the big events. Electric6
£10 for each one wrong then.... Maybe Speedworth themselves will take over The Wtiches and have a "Speedway" person in charge of running the side, they will be able to offset the running costs of the team against their own fiscal activities, and as said before, the potential revenue from food and drink sales etc. as well as exploring additional sponsorship revenues could make it an option. Also, if Speedworth own the Witches then they would be able to sell their Hospitality units per meeting to local businesses for Speedway only - not sure if the units at the moment allow those who have them to watch literally anything at Foxhall - but splitting them could turn over more revenue. At present Speedworth get Rent & Beverage Sales If they took control, they will lose Rent - potentially gain Sponsorship, Advertisnig, Hospitality, Ticket sales, Merchandise and maybe Sky money Also they will be able to cross-promote the Speedway alongside their other eventsRent cannot be worth a lot if the Witches are still in business today, even if operating at break even. 2ndbendbeerhut
Some at Spedeworth dont want/need the Witches.. it costs them in cleaning the track before car meetings Why Doolan? not an asset anymore....... Baldyman
Oh I didn't realise he wasn't anymore. So what happened to adding to the asset list before moving back into the elite league. Does anyone think we may be seeing a new 7 pointer? As not many riders that haven't been on other teams threads left that I would want in the team. 2ndbendbeerhut
sold to Berwick last June....
ZODIAK
TBH no great loss if Doolan was sold. Not exactly part of the "building up for a return to the EL" is he? Same could be said for Risager so if there's someone out there that want to pay for his contract for a reasonable price I'd sell him too. I'd then invest that money on either bringing in a new asset, or trying to buy the contracts of an Adam Ellis or BWD. At least that way you'd have an asset that had a chance of making it. No guarantees of course but certainly more of a chance than Doolan or Risager. I wonder whether we'll find out tomorrow that Tungate has also been sold? That air fence needs buying somehow.. TheScotsman
To "sell" someone you need a buyer. I don't know that we've even had a buyer for Max Fricke yet and then of course there is GB's best home based rider - Cookie.
