Well......if someone asked me would I rather finish 7th or 12th I would always choose 7th, but maybe that's just me.

i do agree - just devils advocate for the debate....

Well you got your point or two from Conner Mountain , so how did he perform what's your view.

excellent IMO.

Super gate and ride to hold on for his paid win in his last ride and always on the pace.

Plenty of ability to work with when he gets his chance.

Im sure hes a very proud young man today

Well pleased with his performance last night, not entirely convinced he's 100% in control of his bike at times but I'm sure that will come.

I also think Danyon Humes deserved more than he got last week.

They've both got something about them and track time at this higher level will only help their development.

Connor seemed to be turning his bike too sharp mid bend and locking up, maybe riding like he's at Mildenhall, but got more used to the track as the meeting progress culminating in a great ride in heat 12 to cap it off.

I thought young Mountain (is that a hill?) did very well last night.

Certainly looked more likely to stay on the bike than young Hume last week but both showed a lot of fight.

Either one would be worth sticking with.

And then there's young Sarj!!!!

What to say?

Now you know my previous post wasn't sarcasm, pity though I would have liked him as a NO;7 at Peterborough.

Ouch Scotsman, ouch?! A 'Young Mountain' is a 'Hill' ........ and in Scotland does he have to be called "Ben"?

(And if they signed Connor Locke (wrong spelling I know) would he big a 'Big Lake'....?)

I think all three ('Big Hill', the 'Cracker Man' and 'Alec Douglas') would be worth sticking with, plus Sarj, if only someone at the Club would get off their arse and coach the kid even just once a month. Another plus point of JJ's current points gathering is the irk it will be causing the very quiet neighbours north of the border in Norfolk In Way.

Encouragement and support brings heat wins which breeds confidence which brings more wins, which brings a feeling of more time, bringing the rider's head up rather than down and therefore an ability to turn track time into track craft, which can lead to team riding, switch backs, the confidence to try different lines and ..... entertainment for the fans and a far more rounded and capable rider who doesn't then leg it back to the pits in as fast a time as possible, and possibly a lap of honour and a recognition of the fans who part with their hard earned, including the Massif Bell End of the stand (where you sit).

Then you have a basis of a young, exciting, talented team which, with the inclusion of an old head (preferably on a young body and mounted on a quick bike) could be challenging for honours, entertaining the fans whilst giving them something to associate with, rather than an 'in and out' mercenary who rides in seven different teams every week and who the fans can feel no love or association with.

Of course, that team would have to be in the PL, so that won't be happening at Ipswich next season then.....? Oh damn, just when I thought the light at the end of my tunnel was not the endoscopy torch.

EDIT: PS, meant to also add (sorry HKP, you probably lost me at "Ouch", lol) that the Massif plus knitting zombies may then get to see a bit of post heat entertainment too, like, er, maybe a wheelie, you know that thing where a rider picks up the front and rides the thing on the back wheel only. Most of the knitting zombies, will have been filling in their undead programmes with the end of their needles dipped in human blood, so they will have missed it, but I noticed a young rider attempting to entertain post heat during the Rye House match. Now, who was it again, oh yes, he wasn't wearing a Witches race suit, or bib, as a lot of the original seven (well four plus three) suits are hung up in the backs of vans that do not head toward Foxhall anymore, he was wearing a Rockets suit and had flashes of pink on his bike covers. Ah, I know, it was Cameron Heeps I believe. Nice one Cam and thanks for that, Showing the Witches Inner Sanctum what they are missing this season and what they will not be able to tempt back even with all the £ riches of a title sponsor's wallet. (How much did the sale of the van hire business bring in again.....?)
