Ipswich 2016

With the new averages out for July Ipswich's combined team average is 41.44, surely we should be looking at replacing Paco who has now gone down to 3.01 with a reserve up to an average of 4.07. We can't keep conceding a 1-5 in the reserves race every meeting.

A shame for Paco think the fans warmed to him just a shame his glimpses of promise didn't come round much.

Not knocking him for effort that was always there but the results just didn't come his way.

So it's hello to Joe Jacobs, welcome to the Witches .

Jacobs has been riding really well lately and been beating some PL heatleaders for Belle Vue in the EL so you have to think this is another very good move.

Our top 5 is as good as anyone's IMO, it's been the reserve area which has cost us massively.

Although sad to see Paco go (we all warmed to him) this change makes the team look much better.

If Jacobs can chip in 4,5,6 points most meetings then that is an improvement and could be the difference between winning and losing tight meetings.

Amazing that Joe is still a Witches asset and yet only now finally gets to ride for us!

Let's go on a charge and try and make ground on that 6th place. Going to be difficult as there's a lot of ground to make up but it's definitely doable and a few more quick away wins starting at Scunny will be just what the doctor ordered.

The right call IMO. After a tough start Paco seemed to have turned it around and put in some creditable performances but all too soon reverted to the start of season form.

As others have stated just those 4 or 5 points will turned narrow defeats into wins and make all the difference.

Welcome home Jojo!

Something had to be done... if only we could have speedway every Thursday too...

But if we had meetings every Thursday our season would be finished by mid July.

Hopefully these new changes come in next year, no more silly 6 point thing, no doubling up, so no need to avoid fixture clashes. But that's what the fans want, so I wont hold my breath. But I'm led to believe, two realistic divisions of 12 teams (with the conference for development teams only) is what most of promoters also want.

Call me cynical..but we will get what ever gives Poole an advantage probably. Is there enough good riders around so every team has a decent number one?

Even with the proposed 6 man teams I doubt if there's enough riders to go around. Certainly not enough No1's, as one proposal is to bring the cost of a 1st division meeting down from £20,000 to £15,000. So what that means for the 2nd division appears to be a very cheap product, will we be one of the 4 going up???

So with Jacobs coming in now is this seen as giving him track time getting him ready for being one of our EDR riders for next year ?

If said rumours are correct then we will be one of those 4, maybe also rye house?Glasgow? Somerset?
