Well done Rohan Tungate. Back to Back Pairs Titles with different teams and different riding partners. Good on you, ya little beauty.

I just waved my Wimbledon tribute tennis racquets at Danny King on the TV after his second successive second place in the British SGP and I swear he waved back, lol.

Good luck with your Massif cow girl bell octet lads. Let me know when you have tuned up and perfected the William Tell or A Walk in The Black Forest and I will come along and join you with my harmonica - if anyone can tell me they have the blinkin thing. Really fed up losing stuff at Foxhall. First the cow bell / clanger and drumsticks to the Surrey Glasgow Tigers fans and now the harmonica that I am supposed to be learning to play before my 60th so that I can do a turn at my Six Oooooh Birthday Bash at the Manor Social Club and raise money for the Air Ambulance.......

Well I thought Danny wouldnt make the SWC team and that if he did it would be Cooks place most at risk.

After that GP effort to back up his British title Id say it would be a travesty if he wasnt picked.

However it may be Harris that is under most pressure now...

Whilst it is fair to congratulate Somerset on their success it shows what a pile of poo we have become. No disrespect to Somerset but they have been running only a few years and seem to have hit a groove whilst we have hit a rut! As has been said before the great name of Ipswich speedway is being dragged down by woeful performances all over the shop. The sad thing is that the set up at foxhall is first class, the sponsorship is first class, the press coverage is probably the most extensive of any club in the country and the rider's should be first class but something goes horribly wrong. What is it and is there anybody out there that knows the answers?

Firstly, you need a track that you can race on.

The problem at Ipswich is as Shads has said , the track consistantly provides poor racing the fans then get fed up because their own riders can not put in consistant performances ,it becomes a lottery of boredom,,never seen a good meeting there in 30 years

Only been going in the PL years, but locals say the racing was better in the top division. Has the track shape changed since then?

Totally agreed T B. And, it is my understanding that currently there is one man and one man alone who holds the key to the future of Ipswich Speedway Club and that that man is John Louis. Unfortunately for some of the bids the deciding factor appears, again currently, to be £ and we all should know by now what that may lead to in 2017.

In my opinion, CL made a mistake by loaning out both Rohan and Cam at the same time that upset the balance and continuity of the team. There is no doubt that they both did need to move away at some stage and, you cannot imagine that either will be battering down Mike Smillie's back door (oh er), to return to the Heath in 2017.

In defence of CL, I had been informed that the Ipswich septet were always the best remunerated £ wise in the PL and that there is no doubt that, maybe apart from this season, CL's pre-season line ups stood up to most, if not all, the other PL team line-ups put together before the start of the season. CL may be open to criticism of how many riders have not improved under his promotion, and lets face it Chris should be one of the best advisers and coaches around, but he does not ride the bikes and, his frustration boiled over at Hoddesdon during the Cup match and that will have made the end of season decision that much easier to make.

Ipswich, Suffolk and the World of Speedway owes the Louis' a great deal and we should never overlook the massive contribution that the family has made. A statue to John Louis should be a formality.

They made the track slightly wider by going inwards (outwards never an option because of stock car track) and shortening it a bit in the process.

To be honest it's been pants ever since! I can count the amount of decent racing surfaces I've seen in the last few years on one hand (actually maybe one finger) sorry Bob.

The match against Rye was the first one I've seen for as long as I can remember that it was actually watered during the meeting, we all nearly fainted with shock!

If only we had a really good surface to provide decent racing along with the 10,000+ capacity of the stadium we'd be in a great position to host some slightly more high profile events, but as it is we've got no chance.

BTW Shads you're always welcome to join the BSF massif to help drive away the knitting/domino playing section that doesn't appreciate our cheering/noise making/atmosphere creating joviality!

Spot on I think Baldyman.

EDIT:

By the By, I think the BSF Massif should claim some credit for not only Danny King's performance in Cardiff, but also for the reigning Olympic Champion's second victory in the Wimbledon Men's Singles Championship earlier today. If he hadn't had a periscope of me and Junior Beer Hut smashing it to all corners on Thursday, I really don't think a straight three would have been in his mind at all.

I'll be there. Unfortunately there's no Berwick tour bus coming down, so you won't have rival noise makers to contend with.

Were there rival noise makers at ippo last week?

(apart from the rubbish PA system.)

Apart from me after heat 3, no
