ZODIAK
Well its now 43 days till the new season kicks off at Foxhall for the Witches , does any one know if the stadium owners have done anymore work to the stadium over the winter months ? New PA system would be great might even be able to understand what they are saying but not holding my breath . Chris Louis said a few months ago that work on the new home straight stand was being carried out next winter.
TheScotsman
Some track lighting would be good too.
Pob
Some track lighting would be good too. Not so much more lighting it's angling the lights so they are shining onto the track and not as they currently are lighting up the stock car track
Baldyman
There is a problem there, it's owned by stock car people. I'm pretty sure that they just need a clean as well. And I've seen far worse lighting at other tracks Edited February 3, 2016 by baldyman
TheScotsman
I agree it's poor elsewhere too but I find it's made that bit worse at Ippo because you have the car track which pushes you back from the action more. Probably just my failing eyesight though!
Baldyman
You are right though, it could be better. Those lights were cutting edge 30 years ago lol
TheScotsman
So they are still gas lamps?
Tsunami
So they are still gas lamps? Yes, still on town gas and thimble gauzes.
TheScotsman
I thought I saw the lamp man going round with his pole lighting them one evening but the light wasn't good enough to be sure.
Alan R Horne
I thought I saw the lamp man going round with his pole lighting them one evening but the light wasn't good enough to be sure. Well thats better than using candles as some tracks have no better lighting than this.

dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
not being able to run on Good Friday, due to the Elite moving their fixtures to that day and also May day must be costing the promotion a serious amount of badly needed money. Its time the Premier league used their numerical supremacy to ensure they are not walked all over. These Bank Holiday dates have been replaced with Saturday night slots. When we have run a couple of times on a Saturday the crowds have been nearly on a par with the Bank Holidays. The night racing is invariably better than the daytime meetings too. On balance I think most are happier with the arrangements this year and hopefully the finances wont be hampered as a result.
Super Blue
And the Saturdays they have selected not clashing with football matches Is also a help.
ZODIAK
And the Saturdays they have selected not clashing with football matches Is also a help. They've done very well with the fixture list IMO. Interesting that they've also got no individual meetings listed, even provisionally. Have they decided to knock the 16 lapper on the head? It's been on the fixture list for donkeys years but not this year.
Baldyman
Is there the normal warm up matches with rye house? They do seem to have put plenty of thought into the fixtures which is good. Edited February 6, 2016 by baldyman

dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Not sure if I picked up the right info or not re the facility if a draft rider is unavailable for a PL fixture due to a clash. Is it still just r/r or can a guest be used this year? Early clash for us with Lewi Kerr - Sat 2nd home to Sheff the same night as Lakeside at Leicester.
