Sorry, I did mean to!

If your change is permanent, I will also say "thank you" too!

Me too, although I don't know why you don't use the standard font, it is so much easier to read! Anyway, thanks again, Hagon.

There are some really good and to a degree revealing articles about the end of the Abbey in issue number 70 of Backtrack magazine, received today. If you don't get it normally, it might be worth writing to them or telephoning to get your copy. Their email is subs@retro-speedway.com website www.retro-speedway.com and phone number: 01708 734502

He's a good egg Hagon and clearly loves his speedway. Knowing Sid, he will be back! ;)

Saw the spin on the Swindon Website about the New Staduim being built by the end of may and the farewell meeting not being a con as it is the farewell meeting ever thou it's was quite clear it was never going to be the last meeting !.

Rather than give all these promises that might not happen why don't we just say we are running at the abbey intill we know otherwise ? if the new stadium does happen then it's a bonus . Where stadium uk are concerned there are no guarantees.

lets be perfectly honest here, is it realistic to think that the probability of a new stadium/track being built is next to zero?

I'm guessing the new Swindon stadium will be completed at around the same time as the re-developed Odsal, you know, the one that closed at the end of 1997 for a 2 year redevelopment, due to re-open in 2000.

You mean the same Odsal where the Bradford Bulls are still playing? If so I don't see the point you're trying to make. Nice stadium is Odsal http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-16723350

If you can't see the point deak 77 was trying to make .I think a visit to specsavers is in order

I see it the same way that is why Swindon should just keep it simple by saying we are staying at the abbey intill we hear otherwise . Sadly if you read the Swindon Speedway facebook page there are still lots of people who think that the stadium will be build by May because Terry Russell told them so, thou it's quite clearly that is impossible .

TR would have been far more sensible doing that and been respected a bit if he had done that rather than having a go at the fans and coming out with BS.

Doesn't have to be absolutely complete to use does it? Could start akin to Somerset!

Perhaps they could transfer the grass-banks bars and bogs of the Abbey to the new site 50 yards away..don't bother with the snack bars and kiosks they're crap. Temporary seating could be installed if needed. The retractable roof can come later.
