OveFundinFan Posted October 14, 2015 Report Share Posted October 14, 2015 Perhaps they went for the retro-feel, at least they swapped the Izal shiny rolls for softer kinder material, and installed light-bulbs, toilet seats, water, and door-locks. The speedway club don't own the stadium though, and on dog-racing nights that part of the stadium is inaccessible to the public. That makes the situation worse..... the speedway management should have been stronger to confront the stadium owners to do something, failing that they should have stumped up the money to get decent facilities for the speedway only paying spectators to have decent facilities. Sounds to me like no one cares how spectators feel. The Hyde Road toilets were not brilliant, but that was back in the 60's/70's..... standards today should be much higher. Probably a tiny fraction of Robins fans actually contribute, it seems half on here don't go anyway. Just like to pint out A. i attend regularly in fact have for a few decades and B.i will give praise where due and the opposite when i also believe is due. The SWC final was a victim of the timeline that Swindon are now encountering, but that dosent mean you doubters were right at all, come march next year all you doom mongers come along and see the venue you all said would never materialize. No doubt all the saddos that take exception to any hint of good news happening in the sport will find something else to moan about, wether it be the track, the pies, the coffee not hot enough etc, there seems to be more anti speedway people on here nowadays putting down the sport, sitting behind their keyboards throwing out insults, no wonder so many decent posters have abandoned this site, im glead to say i will now be joining them. One other thing those that were deriding BV would have been better off worrying about their own club wouldnt they? It makes me laugh when those who said the national stadium wouldnt be built are so deluded they still think they were right. If anyone wonders why the sport finds itself in the situation it is in now.. this post typifies it. Precisely the attitude that many promotions and their sycophants have taken.. the results are there for all to see.
