King's Lynn 2016

Who would they be guesting for?

For the none existing number one.

They may seek guests, but won't get them as the rules don't allow it.....for that very reason!

Yet the rules change when it suits so anything is possible.

It would be wrong however.

I except, some of the blame is down to the Lynn promotions, but having problems assembling a fair side needs to be proportioned to the organisation of the BSPA as well.. These past years the sport has lost all direction . At this point, we have riders all on false averages, we have far too many team points available for the riders that want to race here, on those fictitious figures, We even had to make up a heat leader list, of riders who don't want to ride, and...... come the first month that list will be thrown away, We have a draft system that is so unfair it's unreal. The idea was created to distribute the young English rider equally and also to save promoters money. Ride against the same they said, It that why some teams have 2 tier A draft riders and others having none. sure sounds fair to me......

At a time when the sport needs to be correct and impartial, I cant think of much more they can do wrong.... We need to promote this sport to all and sundry. but promoters, acting like dictators doesn't create anything positive at all. .

We have too many rules, Too many conditions, Too many reasons why nobody comes anymore. How can it get any worse..........

Yet again your memory has let you down .I remember when people said the draft was unfair and your reply that it was tough luck and you should grow your own talent ...You never seem to be worried about ride against the same etc etc then ....it's amazing that it sounded fair to you then but not now .

It's makes me laugh how you go on about how unfair system only when it effects your club and use the word impartial ...your only care is about your own side .

Wish someone at the club could explain why the need to change race night because as it stands it's achieved nothing other than lose Kerr - what is the true motives for the switch ? To be ready for a single EL race night in 2017 was the reason given but that's a very poor reason when we could make the switch next winter . So why have we switched ?

Unless Lewis or Simon have a breakthrough season thats a very weak reserve pairing. Are there still two reserve races? If so thats an eight point head start for the opposition in several matches unfortunately.

Need a huge signing at number one to have even a sniff of the Play Offs, the latest rumour I've heard is Sayfutdinov but I can't take that seriously at all, plus I thought Russian matches are ridden on Thursdays anyway. As Haza says I just can't see the benefit of the club moving race nights as it stands, would be nice if the promotion came clean. And as mentioned by semion at some point the team so far does little to attract the floating supporter. All rather deflating to be honest.

Seems difficult to imagine, but ignore the Russian League - it only has three teams and Emil has only made three appearances in the last three years.

So Emil it is then.

that's the type of rider the club need to sign someone who will put bums on seats and go out and win races , when Emil made his UK debut in the EL I seem to remember one of the biggest league crowds at Lynn . We need a big name for sure

You and your 'Liked' disciples, are a like bunch of kids....... Please, go back and find a post that said I thought the Draft was a good idea. You'll have a long look !!! .

I have always been outspoken about the ridiculous idea and the problems it creates. The problems far out weighs the advantages...... Because of my objections to the draft scheme I have been called many things, but it seems ironic now that all the problems I highlighted has come to fruition.

Going back to my comment about 'grow your own', I posted that, in response to a petulant post , when at the time I thought was rather petty . A general discussion was taking place about the good and bad of the FTR idea, when some poster pointed out we (Lynn) were alright as we had both Kerr and Rose. and I responded with the comment of grow your own..... That wasn't an admission that I liked the scheme it was purely a response to someone who was jealous of our riders.......

I hope we can put his to bed once and for all............

Yup Thursday nights are not good for us. Wednesdays please !!

Thursday nights are a disaster for me too, plus a fair number of people I've spoken to who have other commitments that night, and either can't or won't change them.

With being used to Wednesday night as 'our' speedway night, you build the rest of your social activities around that, as I, and many others have done over the years. If one of those activities decides to change its day of action, then you are faced with the dilemma of dropping whatever activity you were involved in that night, or saying goodbye to the activity you were doing on the new night.

At the moment, I know of eleven people who will be lost to speedway on a Thursday night, and will only attend the few meetings we've got planned for the Saturday night. Unfortunately, apart from one of them, they won't attend 'Young Stars' meetings, which as you and I know Whippy, are way more entertaining than Elite League meetings, so that's ten people that will be completely lost to speedway at King's Lynn this year that I know of, which is tragic to be honest.

As things stand today, I myself can't attend any Elite League meetings this season, so how thankful am I, that the 'Young Stars' will still be operating on a Wednesday night? As I've said in postings on Facebook, I'm Chairman and Captain of a sports team that operates on a Thursday night, so can't walk a\way from that. When the change of race night for speedway at King's Lynn was announced, I immediately contacted my sports league committee, requesting to change my clubs home match night from a Thursday to a Tuesday, but this fell on deaf ears. However, after getting together with each club in the league, it would seem that they are happy for me (us) to make that required change on a 1-year trial basis.

We have our AGM next Tuesday, and I will know then whether I'm lost to speedway, or whether I can continue to enjoy both activities that I've done for all of my adult life, so fingers crossed.

Are we a bunch of kids because we disagree with you? This forum is about opinions and there is no need to throw a strop when someone disagrees with you - that makes you the kid!

It seems 6 people and the OP don't remember you moaning when you had a decent team with the pick of FTRs but now when your team looks worse than Coventry's (and that takes some doing), you moan like hell saying you never said this and never said that. I was outspoken about the FTR from the start and I do remember the lack of sympathy with you spouting about growing your own youngsters - what goes around comes around

Kings Lynns team does look weak i grant you but i cant agree about Coventrys team.

Poole, Belle Vue and Swindon look the top 3 teams but i will place Coventrys as 4th compared to the others. Thet have the 4th best heat leader trio. A solid second string in Garrity (ok the pole is unknown) and a good reserve duo.

I would put Coventry ahead of Leicester, Wolves , Lakeside and Kings Lynn

My labelling some as kids was in response of them liking something that was untrue, that reminds me of school day when you side with something without knowing the true story .. This is not about opinion it is fact. I have never agreed, said or posted that I thought the Draft was a good idea. Whatever way ORION wants to interpretate it is up to him but it does not make it correct. And for those who think that deserved a 'like' then so be it...

Scaremongering, Rumour spreader, Timer waster, was just a few of the names I was called in my outspokenness of the Draft ideas. So no doubt those 6 people have selective memory.....

What disappointed me most, is that I posted a comment outlining at least 5 points why the teams are having problems assembling a fair side. all of them relevant points. The only response I received was a personal jibe from ORION which bared no relevant to the post at all. .. That to me speaks volumes........

The truth is we got lucky with Lewis Rose in 2014, others could have picked him before Lynn but didn't as they didn't know much about him and he was far better than those of us who knew of him thought. Injuries at the end of that season and the start of last have really curtailed his progress unfortunately, hopefully with a good injury free year he might get back to where he was in that first season.

The FTR system has its faults but on the whole I think its doing what it set out to do and the reserves picks looked reasonably even until Lynn released Kerr. I think Lambert & Rose will probably hold their own at home but away from Lynn they look easy pickings unfortunately.

I for one wish both Lewis and Simon the best of luck next season. Simon had some good meetings in the Premier League last season and there is no reason why he cannot produce that form in the Elite League this season. All they need to do is hold their own and hopefully surprise a few people. A bit of support and confidence works wonders. Same again with Batch. He has had some ups and downs but on his day can run with and beat the best in the league. I don't think we have seen the best of him yet.

Come on Buster and Rob, just find us one more "Star" and lets get behind our lads.
