King's Lynn 2016

Recommended Posts

Quite!!! Kenneth's form was shocking last year but the last straw for me was his blocking of Bomber, can't forget that lack of team spirit!

That peed me off more than any loss of form. In fact his whole lack of connection with the club and fans since signing for us has been poor IMO. So I'd rather have anyone but KB [/quote

Batchelor is sure to enhance any team spirit within the Lynn ranks.....just don't produce any over watered tracks ;)

Lynn are waiting for the right time to announce King Kenneth, they want maximum press coverage from the national newspapers aswell as the local papers.

And which national newspapers would bother reporting it, the same as those who report the speedway results each day ?

Interesting hearing Rory's comments, especially about of the Draft scheme.. .......

And they were???

He words were direct when he described as a load of B-------ks.. He said all other countries had their own schemes in place to assist the development of home riders. The draft was only implemented to save the promoters money, not to develop new talent.....

He suggested each team to have 3 home riders, 2 in the main body of 1-6 and a third to be under 21 and placed at No7. The protected heats does nobody any favours. If they wanted to ride against others similar to themselves then they can do that in the PL. He went on to say, when he started, he had to race against, Gollob, Rickardsson, Crump, Loram every race. You'll never get better riding against people of the same, you have to race against the best to improve......

As with the rest of his comments: Very forthwith and direct to the point.... Nice to listen to someone who tells it like it is..........

I agree with protected heats, should get rid of them. We were saying though that we would struggle to find good enough under 21s to be reserves.

Stars sign No Wan

Little known Chinese prospect Foo-Kin No Wan has been signed to lead the Stars in the 2016 Elite League season.

No Wan will start the season on a 8.00 average and will take the No 1 position which team boss Rob Lyon admits will raise some eyebrows.

Lyon said: “This is another major coup for King's Lynn speedway as far as I am concerned. Leicester were interested but once he'd read the TripAdvisor reviews for Pearl River, King's Lynn was the only place he wanted to be."

“Numerous other clubs have tried to tempt Foo-Kin No Wan back into British speedway, but we have managed it."

“It is a hugely exciting signing and should also ensure we sell thousands of horrible polyester replica shirts to the Far Eastern market."

Foo-Kin No Wan was available for comment at this time (same old story)

The Stars have also signed the South Korean long track champion. When Rob Lyon was asked how negotiations for a second heatleader were going it's admitted " Oh it's Phu Kin-Ell"

I'm sure if that became the norm, there would be at least 8 youngsters out there only too willing to try.......

So that would be something like:

Poole - Adam Ellis

Wolves - Max Clegg or Josh Bates

Leicester - Bates or Clegg

Lakeside - James Shanes

Coventry - Ollie Greenwood

Belle Vue - Liam Carr

Swindon - Zach Wajtknecht

King's Lynn - Connor Mountain or Danny Phillips

I'm sure they would, I guess they "should" improve quicker ..... there will remain a problem with keeping team strength even though ......

Not really.........The main problem that exist with the draft scheme is that the some of the riders are way too strong compared with others in tier 2. , and will have far bigger influence on match proceedings. If like Rory said we used young talent and rode them at a permanent 7 , They would struggle at first but soon develop their skills as they would race against better riders, and eventually progress into the team. proper.... Because they would be riding against other heat leaders and 2nd strings, their differing skill level wouldn't be so directive to match results.... and therefore, more importance would be put on teams winning the big heats.....
