Star Lady
Now you being silly.... Its all about the integrity of the club and the value it places on it's supporters. Nobody is asking for the world just a few timely facts would be nice: i.e. Troy accident and how it will interfere with the team progress during the season. The Polish fixture coming up and what the fans can expect in light of costs and riders on show. I understand the secrecy needed in signing top riders, but surely the reserve berth can be more open. Having already messed up with Kerr, it isn't too much to ask of the current situation regarding replacements...it seem every team is aware of our options except the Stars own supporters. In a sport where fans are few and far between, this is not the way to increase, or sustain the interest in any club.......... Or even how much it will cost for a normal league match. There is nothing on the website about 2016 admission prices and you have to contact the club to find out the season ticket costs? I would have thought such information was basic marketing. As I have said this is speedway,i don't get upset because I don't get to know the ins and outs of a ducks a**e of what is going on.Do you really need to know everything,as long as we get to know the 1-7 and when the first match is a couple of weeks in advance we should all be alright. You go on other threads and you aren't aware somebody has posted that the reserve list could have more riders put on it in January.Maybe this is the reason nothing has been said about the final reserve plus you cant get the other rider until you know the average of your final reserve. semion
TellBoy is right. after all we are only customers. M&S dont tell you daily whats going on, oh hang on yes they do. Traders tend to keep their customers in the loop about things, they value your custom Fact is the PR at the Club is shot to pieces. I thought the guy Marc Gent was going to be a breath of fresh and take the Club forward in terms of PR. I am sure once the meetings come along we will get the normal old Hogwash in an attempt to get the Floating fan to hand over 17 notes ( unless it has gone up in price). Note to Buster.... This would have never happened in the days when you had your Boy in charge of things. I really Hope Buster does a better job as Chairman of the BSPA than he currently doing with his own club, if not I cant seem being in situ very long. Starboy118
You have to let people that pay to watch (supporters/customers) think that they matter even if you believe that they don't. They want to be involved and feel that they are a part of the Club. Communication is critically important in this. The way things have gone over the last couple of years is the reason I no longer visit the AFA. I can find better places to spend my hard-earned where it is clearly more appreciated. It is obvious that Star Lady knows what she is talking about and has her fair share of common sense. Why not ask her to assist with promoting and marketing? Would she be interested?

Star Lady
Seems as though some on here need to check their Club's twitter and website and speedwaygb.co All of which were updated AFTER the posts above were made. I checked on 2 devices before my posting #1326. Sorry to disappoint you It is obvious that Star Lady knows what she is talking about and has her fair share of common sense. Why not ask her to assist with promoting and marketing? Would she be interested? I thank you for the flattering comments. However I'm not the slightest bit interested. To be honest even if I won the lottery I wouldn't put money into British Speedway at present. I (with a few other fans) have been involved in a very small way over the years and possibly understand a bit more than some. Promoting speedway is not an easy job but as Semion has said several times, Buster appears to be spreading himself a bit thin at the moment and needs someone he can trust implicitly to be his 2nd in command and deal with the mundane day to day stuff. Trouble is Speedway doesn't have the finance to employ such people, who ideally need to be totally independent from outside influences e.g. sponsors/replica kit etc.so they are trusted by the customers/fans. I don't profess to know all the answers but there are many things that can be done that would not cost anything and even more that would not cost a lot , many of which have been posted by various members on BSF over the years. Ideally these ideas need to be tapped into but I won't hold my breath. At least when Jonathan was around he would listen to fans. He has on occasions explained to me why something was not possible, which proved he had listened and given it at least a moments thought. g13webb
Seems as though some on here need to check their Club's twitter and website and speedwaygb.co Seems as though some on here need to check their facts before stirring . At 7.30am this morning I checked, the KL Website, all Twitter accounts and the SpeedwayGB and there was nothing posted at that time. If we spoke out of tune, I apologise.. Maybe wrong, but can't help thinking this has only been posted as a response of what was said.....
SteveLyric2
I was referring more to Starboy118 and Semion. Most websites and the BSPA site are usually updated -when they have something to update - by around mid-morning. I wouldn't expect clubs to post at 0730 hours - but then I wouldn't expect to post myself before about 0930 earliest either.

Obviously you didn't do early shifts for many years, early rising is a very hard to break habit

I always tend to head for the Website, as I consider that to be the Clubs all encompassing format. I see today they have finally told the fans about Troy's break, but didnt want to make this public until the full facts were known. Yet it seemed other Socila Media sites were were discussing the matter within Hours of it happening. Skidder you can defend it all you wish, but the facts are The Clubs commnication levels with the fans are poor. I am sure that will change when Buster wants people to hand over their 17 quid on a rainy Thursday night in April.

And don't you feel that was the correct way to do it.Look at the poor Darcy situation, people were coming out with all sorts of things before all of the facts were known about the situation. How distressing that could be for family and friends hearing what people are coming out with because they heard it on the grapevine.I believe they have done it the correct way.State facts when you know them.
kelvinht
What should have been issued WHEN Troy was injured was that he was believed to have broken his arm and that an update would be issued when the full extent of his injuries were known. Then we wouldn't all be trying to second guess what was occurring on the other side of the globe.... We could have even had an update that he was going into hospital on such and such a date. Doesn't take much to communicate... Rob's comment was clearly a poor attempt to cover up the Stars inability to communicate this over the last couple of weeks...

This lack of communication was going on all last season . It's time for a new face that update Twitter Facebook and the clubs website. Batchelor broke his arm out riding MX with Holder, Watt & Rose in England on 20th December didn't he, not in Australia? Would make sense if he then saw a specialist in London. Haza
Seems to me it takes a few comments on the BSF about lack of communication this time mainly about Troy broken arm them there is a press release on the website this has happened several times so I can only assume the powers that be read this forum from time to time .

Not trying to defend the club in this instance - or any club - KL is not the only club guilty of a lack of regular info for whatever reasons. Some clubs have not published 2016 admission charges/ season ticket info even though their 1-7 is complete - whereas some clubs HAVE launched their season ticket promotions before they've even got half a team named!! As I've said on numerous occasions -I am not on twitter but I do check the club website, the local paper and the BSPA website before going on any forum. One problem this winter is that the 'off-season' is even longer than before giving all clubs the challenge of issuing something relevant on a regular basis!! Bunce
I seem to remember some time ago, signing up for the Clubs "regular" Newsletter, to be received by email. I think I received one, then.......nothing.
semion
Phllip Rising managed to fill a good few pages every week. Surely a club can find something of interest to put one once a week. Even an update on what each rider has been up to. I read (Speedway Star) that Rory has offers his help to the Ben Fund meeting which of course is being held at Saddlebow. That was on the club website last week. Hope he is given a chance to help the meeting, the Ben-Fund has gone downhill a bit in recent years. I do worry that being involved off track will effect his return, especially after coming back form such a big injury.
Trees
I think it's great that Rory wants to be involved, his meeting was nothing but a success with the fans, that's what the SRBF meeting needs to be again ......
