King's Lynn 2016

Recommended Posts

Your right. They run a lot of banger/stock car meeting at Lynn.Double the crowds they get at speedway meeting, with very little out lay.

So....

Is Kings Lynn primarily a speedway circuit, that has stocks/banger racing as the second sport?

or

Is Kings Lynn primarily a stocks/banger racing circuit with speedway as it's second sport?

You would have to ask Buster.Without the banger/stocks I very much doubt if Lynn would be able to run Elite.

A good ,well prepared track considering how it's used, don't you think ?.

Do you have bangers at Poole most weeks ? ;)

Just thought Id make a very shameless plug for the newly founded official Kings Lynn Stars Supporters Club (KLSSC) - founded in early June - seeing as Im dealing with the social media side of things and want to get word out to as many fans as possible about our existence!

The supporters club is run by a small group of fans for the fans, but we are fully endorsed by the management of King's Lynn Speedway. We hope to bring the supporters and club together as one with full support from the management.

Our base on race nights will be around the area of the Adrian Flux Arena bar - we could be inside the bar however if the weather isn't so good!

We run a 50/50 draw - £1 a strip or 5 for £3. As of 30th June, the 50/50 table will be next to where programmes are sold, immediately after you enter through the turnstiles. The rest of the supporters club will be on another table around the bar area. Here, there will be hand held chequered blue and yellow flags on sale for £5 each. This is also where we will be accepting applications for new members who want to join, as well as selling tickets etc for social events that we will be organising.

Benefits of being a member:

- Discounts off all events organised and ran by the committee

- Discounts off any away travel organised by the committee

- A membership card

- Commemorative badge (first 100 adult members each year will receive a badge dated with the year) and commemorative keyring (for junior members) (subject to availability)

- Birthday card signed by the riders

- The chance to watch a race on the centre during a meeting - picked at random

- The chance for junior members to be a mascot for the evening - picked at random

- The chance to pick and present your rider of the night with their award and receive a commemorative photo - picked at random

Please note that the membership cards, badges/keyrings and birthday cards are still in the process of being produced at this early stage.

Membership prices (yearly):

Adults (18 years+) £10

Concessions (students, disabled and OAPs - with proof of ID) £8

Young member (under 18 years) £5

We are also open to suggestions for further events and what we can do to help the club - we have a suggestions box at our table during meetings to leave suggestions in and you can contact us by using any of the methods mentioned below to pass on your ideas/thoughts.

Em, who is benefiting from the money raised by the supporters club?

Not sure if it has already been mentioned elsewhere?

Valid question. Sorry, I really should've mentioned that in my original post. The money raised is going to the riders. We're trying to help the youngsters (NL and MDL) lads more than the EL team as most of those have good sponsorship deals I imagine and are riding for numerous teams internationally etc whereas the younger lads are just starting out affectively.

Can I ask if they will be given cash, vouchers or will you buy equipment they specify?

Vouchers. That way they can please themselves. I don't think we'll be handing out cash. Trees, is the chairman, just to put that out there :D

Can I wish the new supporters club every success. In broad terms it seems very like Poole's R.E.F. (Riders Equipment Fund) with many similarities in aims and benefits/discounts.

If I may make one small suggestion - I think £10 for an annual membership is incredibly cheap!!

The Poole R.E.F. has its own bank account with a membership fee of £5 per month payable by direct debit. One benefit of this is that money is still raised over the winter months as well as during the season.

Poole riders have regularly benefitted from substantial monies over many recent seasons.

Just a thought and no criticism intended. Well done to the fans,

Have passed the feedback on! Thank you!

I've had to amend my original post as the KLSSC committee were informed tonight that a NL fixture has been rearranged for the 22nd July and as a result, the date for the quiz will now have to be changed! Awfully sorry everyone!!!!! This was completely out of our control. Once we have a new date, I'll post about it again on here more than likely.

Thanks Skidder 😆 Our main objective isn't to raise money but to bring the club and fans closer together and provide those special, unforgettable experiences for our members like being mascot, picking Rider of the Night and watching racing from the centre of the track. All helps to give a feeling of belonging to the club 😊

I see Lakeside Jon Cook has said he will do everything possible to get the Hammers play of place back on track after losing at home to Poole can only assume after last nights big defeat in Manchester Buster and Rob are doing the same thing as Jon Cook or am I very wide of the mark ?

Well the defeat was inevitable with that pathetic team (no disrespect but we were never going to challenge for a point let alone win without our top 2) and Rob said more or less the same - so yes it would be encouraging to know that the weakest link(s) in the team/squad are in danger of losing their place(s) , as its certainly not impossible that such a farcical situation won't happen again in this crazy sport!
