If I remember rightly Tai had a good season in Poland and Sweden in 2014 ,and was in a run off to finish 3rd in the World.Problem was in 2014 Tai declined to bring his best equipment to England, feeling he could get away with inferior kit to his Polish/Swedish/GP gear.Confidence was not the problem inferior equipment was

Form in other countries is utterly irrelevant as they are totally different in many ways.

There are lots of riders who have great years in one country and poor in another.

Tai has tweeted already that he is signed up for Sweden, Vetlanda, and Poland, Wroclaw, for 2016 and that his Polish contract is for 2017 too.

He's also said that speculation that he's returning to EL, amongst other things, is a mile off...

That puts to bed the Poole/Wolves or anyone else rumours to bed then. At least we won't be having a winter of will he/won't he.

I can't believe anyone would read the original comment and assume it was about the EL or Poole.

like there was a chance it was!

Spot on ...why people have to going about formats and injuries, confidence etc when the fact was nothing was effecting his form in 2014 in Poland and Sweden where the leagues were much tougher ... the bottom line is he put little effort to bring in decent enough equipment and his form showed that ..no matter what he had done before his attitude towards Wolves that year was shocking

There's only you that thinks that so carry on in your own universe

Indeed ..what current World Champion has been great elsewhere but is rubbish in his own country the next year ....he beats Emil and Gollob on the sunday in Poland but then somehow he has no confidence come Monday when facing Troy Batchlor etc .. but then come Tuesday he's ok again in Sweden . yea ok .

woffys been tapped up by ford, poole need a replacement for ward,

reason woffy looked like he wasnt bothered in the british league was that it didnt pay enough,

ford will offer him big money thou

Seems this rumor only comes from Spoons and Beethens!

Darcy was not in the Poole team this year and Pirates have a deep and strong asset base.

In the unlikely event he wants to ride for Poole he should be sold for a record fee that a world champion with Tai's amazing PR warrants - minimum 100k, maybe more.

The money can be invested in multiple young assets that can give Wolves a 5 year plan to be a long term championship team.

Being one of the very few fans who now follow the team home and away, and the amount of time, energy and hard earned money I put into watching the team each year I feel I am entitled to express an opinion on here.

There is nothing wrong with my attitude towards the team, unlike a certain rider from 2014 who treated both the team and the fans with contempt.

I have heard a few stories from that year concerning that rider in particular from reliable sources which bear out his poor attitude - but they are best kept off here.

If he decides he wants to give the correct amount of dedication and show the proper attitude towards the team he would be a welcome addition - but that seems to be a way off as he clearly shows his dedication is elsewhere and not interested in Wolves.

I want a team of riders who want to ride for Wolves and put everything into riding for Wolves.

Freddie and PK are options on their averages but since they have shown they can't cope in the heat leader roles which they are likely to occupy again in 2016, do we keep them?

Musielak is obviously way out of his class.

Bates has been a disappointment really.

Having said all that and torn the team apart where do the realistic replacements come from? - We are in a real mess if the EL stays as it is.

Wolfie

Tai had a poor 2014 in Britain and maybe his heart wasn't really in riding in Britain and CVS and PA admitted they had to persuade him to carry on here. Maybe that was more a fault with his selection and maybe leaving him out at the start would have been the best option and if the team struggled then approached about returning.

As it is, Tai tasted success in 2013 riding just Poland and Britain alongside the GP's which gave him time to train, relax and prepare well but then opted to take on Sweden which not just means more meetings but also more costs and more mechanics from what he had in 2013.

Yes he had a few problems with mechanics and his main mechanics were in Poland and Sweden while in Britain he had a number of spanners during the season but mainly local lads who were in the past mechanics for other ex Wolves riders. However this wasn't the only problem and the lads he had know their stuff but overall the season here just wasn;t that of a World Champion on and off the track due to numerous reasons but he did try and was disappointed with himself.

Whatever happened then it just happened and Britain no longer fits into the needs of Hancock, Woffinden, Pedersen, Sayfutdinov, Hampel etc etc and next year also likely to be Janowski first out the door with others possibly following so for 2016 you can forget most GP or top class riders appearing here.

As for Tobiasz Musielak he had a poor 2015 not just here but also in Sweden and Poland where he stepped up from being a big scoring 20 year old reserve.

However let;s not forget this lad was rated just behind the likes of Dudek, Pawlicki and Zmarzlik but 2015 didn;t work forr him and he ended up not liking Monmore at all but loved riding over here ...... a bit like Freddie when he came over and to be fair Tobiasz showed up well away in quite a few meetings and on 4.53 he could be a good second string next season.

All Woffinden had to do in 2014 was put his hands up early doors and say 'I've took on too much here, I'm not doing myself or the team any good, I need a break from the UK for the rest of the year' and people, including myself, would have been disappointed but ultimately would have understood his dilemma.

Instead of which he carried on with a workload that he couldn't cope with with the resultant ridiculous drop in his average in the UK.

Maybe in a way he did as he has a good relationship with Pete Adams and there was likely to be talks about what he was doing and what was hapening at Wolves but how do you replace a World Champion if there is little to replace him especially as his average dropped from 9.20 to 7.03

So 'top' riders can't cope with riding against fellow EL heat leaders and 2nd strings yet can perform well enough in the GPs, Sweden and Poland where the other 'top' riders are?!

Not about money or loyalty at all really then - just the really tough EL.........................!!??

Money is a key factor when you consider a rider like Tai would earn more in 2 heats in Poland than scoring a maximum here but its also down to costs, times, flights, relaxing and being comfortable with everything.

A point emphasised by when he brought over his GP engine for the British Final!

The engine he used here in 2014 was the engine he blitzed everyone with in the Gorzow GP so it what works on the right night and having the team work out every little thing to make it happen on the track.

2016 = No Tai, No Pawlicki but big changes required and while eyes will be on Joel Andersson in the Olympique, it;s the top end that needs rebuilding and if the Elite League is to be decent we need Freddie to be the third heat leader on 6.11 or the best second string.

HL 1 = ?

HL 2 = ?

HL 3 = Fredrik Lindgren

SS 1 = ?

SS 2 = Andersson or Musielak

Personally I hope the Fast Track changes to just the #7 and for riders more like Ashley Morris or Max Clegg than the likes of Garrity or Newman

My universe is REALITY.

The one where a rider can be top of the averages in one country and 25th in another. This sort of thing happens every single year.

Freddie Lindgren was top of the EL averages in the UK when the league was strong, he was nowhere near the top in Sweden at the same time, racing against the same riders.

Other riders are the opposite.

Why don't you try asking any rider who races in different countries and they will tell you the differences.

They have different teams, different setups across Europe. It might all be working perfectly in one country, not so well in the next.

2014 was very, very disappointing, but there were many factors that went into that.

KK stayed at the same hotel as me in Bydgozsz last week and he was saying he really wants to get back to riding over here as he has only done something like 30 meetings this season and needs to race more than once a week. hope he finds somewhere but on 7.97 he is a gamble

If he brings his Birmingham form he could end up on a nice round 6.

Thats a myth. If KK is crap in the UK he's crap everywhere. He just goes through good and bad spells like no other. Take 12-18 months ago, one of, if not the best rider in the World, take today, riding like a big girl, everywhere!

BV fans will confirm he can be great. Coventry fans have seen both too, as have Lakeside fans.

I think KK will do a good job for someone if he returns as he wants to but under the current format I could see him going the same way as Andersen, Lindgren and Bjerre in struggling around the six average.

The format has to change back and if there was only one draft rider I feel would also be a benefit with riders like Clegg, Morris or Branford at #7 and protected to only ride reserves and second strings. Riders like Garrity, Worrall, Newman etc need to be part of the 1-6 and if that means riding in the main body then they should.

As for Wolverhampton 2016 I can't see any reason why Fredrik Lindgren on 6.11 won't be in all permutations drafted up during the close season and while riders like Jason Doyle or Grzegorz Zengota 7.79 may be available, I think there will be some good 6+ riders moving on too like Andersen 6.45, Batchelor 6.91,Nick Morris 6.70 etc to form a solid top five all on modest averages.

If the limit was 38-40 for six riders would be a better way to go giving Musielak or Andersson as a second string or reserve.

something like .......... Batchelor, Morris, Andersen, Thorssell, Lindgren, Andersson and Clegg. ?

I would agree with most of that. I think blaming the current race format is over-egging the pudding but it's correct to say that good form in one country doesn't always translate to good form in another country.

Take for example Peter Karlsson at Lakeside in 2014, the same period when Tai was supposedly not bothering at Wolves.. Admittedly PK is not the rider he once was but to the casual observer it would appear he wasn't bothering at Lakeside and was eventually sacked . The truth was he tried everything with his engines, various set ups , various engines , but the plain fact was that what made him outstanding at Lakeside in 2013 wasn't working in 2014 and it wasn't all due to advancing years, and it wasn't due to lack of effort.

The other thing that people overlook, or at least refuse to acknowledge is that Speedwáy at the top level is very mentally demanding. You can't just jump,on a bike, flick a mental switch and perform at your best.As Bwitcher says, riders are different. Some such as Hans Andersen have always had a massive appetite for racing and are able to cope with around 100 or more meetings a year over a whole career and still maintain pretty decent form. Others have told me that once they go above about 55-60 meetings in a season their form drops off.

People can speculate on all these claims about Tai not bothering or not having his best bikes over here but I suspect the most likely explanation is the sheer workload of 3 leagues plus the GP's plus the SWC.

Considering Holder's average is lower than that, it is a massive risk.
