Wolverhampton 2016

Wolves fans breathe a huge sigh of relief as Cov sign KK.

Happy days. :t:

TOP FIVE RIDERS IN THE 2016 ELITE LEAGUE

9.44 Jason Doyle (SWI)

7.97 Krzysztof Kasprzak (COV)

7.84 Andreas Jonsson (LAKE)

7.79 Grzegorz Zengota (possibly Swindon)

7.47 Chris Holder (possibly Poole)

He may not be Mr Personality or done much in 2015 but remember this is a rider that 12 months ago finished runner up in the World Championships and can be a prolific scorer in the Elite League next season with no Iversen, Janowski, Zagar or Kildemand.

Question to the likes of Stevebrum who have resisted the idea of one big PL - given the likely standard of 2016 EL (around 3 world class riders) surely the long term future is better with 1 big league of 20 versus the fortnightly In between EL and PL league?

One big league in 2 groups (10 home 10 away) before play offs

Elite League every other Monday for ALL tracks (7 home 7 away)

Use 5 riders in both competitions but in EL you have two star riders like Woffinden/Pawlicki at Wolves or Doyle/Kildemand at Swindon or Zagar/Vaculik at Belle Vue etc ....... then in the one big league you use two lower order riders at reserve that can also be National League riders, especially the #7.

I can see myself commuting to Poland once a month to watch league racing and cut out the EL if it gets any weaker, guess I'd be 'doing a woffy'.

We are planning to do a few meetings at Leszno and Wroclaw next season, so we may form a little travelling club and make it a monthly trip ;)

And remember this is a rider sacked 3 times by 3 different clubs in recent history. Otherwise he has at best a chequered history in the EL.

He has fallen right off the world map in 2015. He is no bigger a signing than Freddie at this stage of his career.

He certainly has potential to do well in this weakened league, that said I couldn't be happier he isn't at wolves.

Like the idea of a travelling wolves club.

It's up to CVS if he wants my ongoing money after 2016 then!

So you will do Leszno v Zielona Gora or Wroclaw v Torun but you won't do Cardiff !!

We are looking at flights from Birmingham and East Midlands and using either a hire car or trains depending on the track we are going to.

Leszno / Gora is like Leeds v Millwall so expect anything but we certainly are looking at Wroclaw and Leszno meetings with a little help from over there ;)

I'll do em if it's standing. I don't do sitting or heights lol

You do realise to get to Poland you have to SIT on a plane in the SKY

I thought Zielona Gora were bankrupt and likely to be replaced by Rybnik??!

A much maligned rider. I think I recall a less than whole-hearted effort at Monmore once when he was about to be axed by his side (Lakeside? My memory is very untrustworthy). But on the whole I always regarded KK as a confidence rider, one for whom the first ride set the tone.

I think the team will be...

1.Freddie

2.Masters

3.Bech

4.Thorsell

5.Kylmakorpi

6.Howarth

7.Clegg

If the second strings averages fit.

Or maybe Andersen at #2 or #4

Sadly I think you are right but can't see that team being good enough to challenge for the title and while there are less big names in the Elite League this team lacks heat winners away from home on a consistant basis.

Yes Freddie should be much better than 6.11 and Mikkel Bech should also do better than 6.16 but can they beat the likes of Kasprzak/Harris or Holder/Andersen/Buszckowski or Cook/Nicholls at their home tracks ?

Hopefully on Tuesday night we will get to hear who is on or off the heat leader list and also answers to many more questions like 40.5 limit but not the riders around to get close. ...... Heat leaders on sub 6 averages so how do you get decent second strings ? ..... Why not one big league with 20 home meetings ?

It would be nice to get back to the old days of a rider having an average from the previous season regardless of being 18 or 28 meetings and a limit everyone could reach which led to fans having calculators for Christmas to work out who could be signing !!

Both Bech and Lindgren struggled at times last year and dropped their averages so could be a risk as heatleaders.

Yes flying isn't a issue. Sitting upstairs in a sporting venue is an issue.

It really isn't that difficult to understand.

Not every venue in Poland is seated as far as I'm aware.

Yes I recall that meeting very well. It was a pathetic and abject performance, well more pathetic than a usual Monmore performance.

He has proven he can ride wolves with the odd stunning ride, but he usually can't be bothered most of the time.

I can't understand the attraction of signing Thorsell over Wells.

Wells home average is far superior to Thorsell's whilst hardly any difference away,

I wouldn't sign either of them - they have had enough chances.

Another new face would be better.

Wolfie

Based on 2015 we effectively have three third heatleaders. However, if Freddie can regain his form combined with the general lack of stars we can be alright.

KK would have have been a poor signing for 2015 league. Given the weakness in 2016 he may be a good steal.

Got to be the way forward,

Ricky has to come in over Thorsell. Its a no brainer.

Is it definite PK is now out the equation since we have signed Bech and Kylmakorpi ?.

Wells should be a heat leader. Thorsell should be a second string. But the BSPA seem to have literally made up the list so who knows?!
