Tommy Sweetman
This is not said with any Micky taking etc but if wolves fans give up on the club and they can no longer afford to run could Cradley eventually become the home team with its own stadium again.how weird would that be!Ive mentioned this before, but ive always been shouted down by TNT saying it will never happen. Well nothing would suprise me now,and i dont think there was any need by CVS to antagonise Wolves fans by saying he was a big Heathens fan during his youth and spent a lot of his time on the Dudley Wood terraces. Yes it will be interesting now to see attendance figures on consecutive Mondays for both clubs. Personally id like to see both clubs in the EL,but its unlikely to happen at Monmore, with Ladbrokes seeming to want only one night a week speedway.

That's been in my mind since CVS said he was only going to do so many years and then handover to someone else (20 or 25, can't remember). He then proceeded to carry on. From my personal point of view I wouldn't trust anything CVS says anymore, which wasn't the case 15 years ago.

Attendance wise I doubt there will be much difference as the Cradley crowds weren't much different on a Tuesday to a usual Monday crowd. I think it's pretty much common knowledge that CVS is a guy who will tell you what you want to hear to your face, and then stitch you up behind your back. He's the sort who , if he shakes your hand, it's advisable to count your fingers afterwards.

Beowulf
Im in the minorty- i will be able to budget and schedule leaving work better twice a month. However, it is important that we are challenging as people will stop going with planned gaps. It does make it slightly easier to attract top riders with fixtures evenly spread and two mondays off a month. If it is so easy to get a top rider it is weird that in 2016 there could be a league with no Janowski Iversen Zagar and Kildemand The point being made was applicable to Wolves only, as no else is planning to run fortnightly. In general though it is seems the Elite League is having less and less relevance to world class riders. Rather than banning GP riders, they are ruling themselves out !
John Leslie
How can Wolverhampton and Cradley possibly fit in their fixtures? Between 15 March and 15 September 2016 there are 26 Mondays. Take away world cup week and that leaves 25 dates. Wolves have 14 league fixtures, and if Cradley only do the league programme (and opt out of the NL KOC and any other competitions) they will have 11 league fixtures. So that's all 25 dates allocated. So altogether to fit everything in they must:- Give up the British Final Cradley only do the basic league programme Somehow still run on the bank holiday mondays when Poland have priority and.... ...not suffer one rain-off all year! Doesn't seem possible.

steven101
Could make a few double headers for the EL teams that also do NL.
SteveEvans
Wolves have 14 meetings to fit in before Mid September essentially. 1 March 2 April 3 May 2 June 2 July 3 Aug 1 September Leaves 14 Mondays exactly. If all NL teams stay put with IOW and Belle Vue join that's 11 NL fixtures, + 1-4 in KO Cup. Mid Sept on is open for Play Offs, a Heathens cup, play offs and Olympique. The issue will be rain offs as it seems, at a squeeze, enough Mondays just about exist. Given that Sweden runs on Tuesdays obviously Heathens would be the team to move to Tuesdays when the rain hits. Lynn and Coventry do two teams already. With Vue and Cradley joining NL that's half of the EL clubs with a B team. The Monmore situation is somewhat complicated with the awkward marriage of rival fan bases sharing a track but given the current state of the sport and apathy (or inability of promoters to sell) no league events we probably have the best possible solution right now for stadium usage. The awkward part might be when a casual fan shows up on a random Monday expecting to see Wolves and its the spoons. But this year this no doubt happened on a blank night. Given that Monday was always our race night and Cradley had Tuesdays, I think the shared race night (at the request of the landlord) does feel a bit awkward and uncomfortable. Plenty of space, Big Car Park, Centrally situated. It ticks every box. When considering this will possibly the last year at Brandon, what could be a better send off than to have the British Final there one more time. Lets see what the track is like at Belle Vue first, before it gets all the prime meetings... There's plenty of time for them to stage the BF in the future....

Coventry was the home of the British final for many years and is known for often putting a team together with British riders in. Think it would be lovely if the British final could be held there, for what is looking likely to be the last year of speedway at Brandon
britmet
Superguest has it when he says 'Double headers' , post #636.But was he thinking the same as me? - 2 Wolves matches ? . . . . or a Wolves followed by a Cradley match.Surely that's the solution to rain-offs.And think of the gate, . . . Not 2 sets of riders pay from one match gate, but 2 lots of fans and double the gate !
