ShropWolf
The Wolves team this season is far stronger than last season and with Kyle Howarth at reserve we have got an ace up our sleeves. I'm looking forward to the season starting we have got nothing to lose as lots of fans are writing us off already. Beware of the Wolf
Tommy Sweetman
Lindgren a class act in the el yet has a lower average than batchelor who is slated on a regular basis! Lindgrens on a huge downward spiral and his el average, exit from the gps and other league figures show this. He was absolutely awful last season. Be interesting to see if Fred switches over to using the Gerhard engine in the coming season. He used it in the final meeting of the season when winning the Olympique at Monmore. He looked more of the Fast Freddie that we became used to watching.Pity he didnt use it earlier in the season.

BWitcher
They are going to do better than wolves!!! I would go and see the Heathens over the wolves. If the signing list and averages are right on the forum the team is shocking. Then you're not a Wolves fan so opinion is irrelevant. I'm sure I read in SS that was part of the plan to switch next season to the Gerhard. It's true Fred wasn't the rider everyone knows in 2015 and it would be daft to suggest he can't get back to a similar level if the switch works. Write him off at your peril, in fact write off the Wolves team at your peril. Team on team there is plenty of room for improvement in the Wolves team which if fulfilled is going to make us very dangerous. Weak on paper yes, but then so are 5 other teams. Fourentee
I think Fourentee confirmed on another thread he is on the Gerhard engine this year in the UK. Correct. Two for use in Britain, two for Sweden/Poland. He's very enthusiastic about the motor, both in its current state of performance and its potential. Time will tell, of course, but the rider himself is certainly in a good frame of mind about the Gerhard and has tested it at least twice in France as well as winning the Olympique on one, as Tommy Sweetman mentioned above.

For the second half of Last season, Kyle was getting beaten by most reserves including guests from the NL. Wolves will do well if Howarth & Lindgren are able to find form Edited February 3, 2016 by mdmc82
Alex2000
Then you're not a Wolves fan so opinion is irrelevant. No I'm not but I'm entitled to an opinion. And I quite frankly count myself lucky that I don't watch a team in this farce of a league. The elite league is dying while every other league is getting better. If your an elite league snob enjoy the league while it lasts because it won't be around much longer.

stevebrum
You say this every year ! and usually are wrong Such an enlightening thought and post. True Wolves have under achieved the past 5 seasons but excuse me for seeing the possibilities of this side. No doubt you will remind me if we struggle again or stay silent If we don't. Jeez. Nowt better than a PL or NL snob who is clearly blind to the problems that face the WHOLE of British Speedway, not just one league. Don't you just love a PL Or NL snob trying to tell us there team and racing is better. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Me personally I didn't see Wolves being contenders last year and likewise this year,I feel there are at least 4 better teams than Wolves but only time will tell. T.N.T.
I must admit that the new look team doesn't look like contenders when you look at the other teams lining up at the tapes next month. Having said that I can see some promise and potential in the line up.Freddie for example should be capable of much more than his average states and I fully expect him to add at least a point to his 6.11 start. Mikkel Bech however is the rider I think could be the teams top rider and if both can be 7+ riders it could be a strong spearhead and Kylmakorpi is a good back up. Jacob Thorssell has potential and as a second string he is good but as a heat leader ? It is also his away form that has to improve big time. Then you have Masters and Howarth at number two and six. Can Masters improve and will Howarth be the leagues top fast track reserve ? Either way Wolves will have a good reserve be it Masters Howarth or Thorssell !! Problem is that all of the above is a question of IF IF Bech and Lindgren improve IF Thorssell can improve away IF they don't it could be another visit to the drawing board

I personally think Lindgren will get back to near his best and have good season in 2016. It is just a hunch I know, but I just feel this could happen and then Wolves could be a real threat. Everyone is tipping Poole but they have the same issues - if Andersen, and Holder to a lesser extent, do not return to their past form then I think they look a pretty ordinary team.

If your an elite league snob enjoy the league while it lasts because it won't be around much longer. You can have an opinion, but it's utterly irrelevant as funnily enough Wolves fans go to support Wolves and Cradley fans go to support Cradley. They don't jump between the two if they think one or the other 'has a better team'. Not a very difficult concept to grasp. The only snob on the thread is yourself, you are the one attacking a league whilst snobbishly claiming something else is better.

Let's face it so many of the so called better riders had average 2015 seasons. Whoever ups their game will see their side do well. If the Gerhard engine works well for Freddie then he will do well and the chances for Wolves are greatly enhanced.

Any idea who the mind boggling riders were for Plan A which ulitmately didnt materialise. Would love to know who that heat-leader was who had never appeared in the UK before.Russian?.
