SteveEvans
With Doyle signed, NKI, Magic, KIldemand and Zagar all buggering off this leaves KK as the most pursued rider! I liked this to a New Years eve party with way more blokes than women and half a dozen chaps all trying to pull to same fat bird at a quarter to midnight!

Steve0
Any other time the signing of Mikkel Bech 6.16 would be a great signing but it looks like this is the heat leader trio and the liklihood is that two from Jacob Thorssell 6.18 Ricky Wells 5.91 Joel Andersson 5.50 ? and Sam Masters 5.60 will be the final places. That is well short of the 40.5 limit and every team bar Swindon look like being the same and it could be that the limit is changed to about 39 I hope you're not talking about lowering the limit for this coming season as that would impact Swindon! So basically Doyle gets the fat bird and the others get a taxi Even if the limit was lowered to say 39 now, Swindon could still track Doyle, Zengota, Morris, Sedgeman, Wright and Nielsen and have space for a 3.00 rider to start at #2 and eventually move down. ...... That is of course if they go with Zengota instead of Batchelor which would enable them to sign a rider like Ashley Birks or Simon Lambert

T.N.T.
Didn't think Ash was riding in 2016. Was or Will ? It was just an example that if they used Batchelor instead of Zengota they could still sign a 5+ PL rider

stevebrum
I keep telling stevebrum that KK is on his way to Wolves but he doesn't believe me Wolves fans breathe a huge sigh of relief as Cov sign KK. Happy days.

SCB
I'm still smirking at Coventry with KK, thanks. For a club that has Kylmakorpi, Bech and Lindgren as heat leaders you're very confident

Plus we don't know if they are heat leaders yet, unless you can show me the list of course.
SteveEvans
Based on 2015 we effectively have three third heatleaders. However, if Freddie can regain his form combined with the general lack of stars we can be alright. KK would have have been a poor signing for 2015 league. Given the weakness in 2016 he may be a good steal. Question to the likes of Stevebrum who have resisted the idea of one big PL - given the likely standard of 2016 EL (around 3 world class riders) surely the long term future is better with 1 big league of 20 versus the fortnightly In between EL and PL league?

Question to the likes of Stevebrum who have resisted the idea of one big PL - given the likely standard of 2016 EL (around 3 world class riders) surely the long term future is better with 1 big league of 20 versus the fortnightly In between EL and PL league? As you asked I will answer. I would prefer the BSPA concentrate on falling in line with Poland/Sweden (Denmark to some extent) and work towards a shorter league programme and try give us back a top league to be proud of. I know I'm dreaming and will probably not happen. I know all the pit falls of clubs not owning there tracks/race nights set by availability/set amount of meetings required/same day league racing not suitable for all. The worrying thing is that we are slowly turning into a glorified PL with a few of the top boys and even that might be watered down over the next year or 2. If I wanted to watch regular PL meetings I would go elsewhere also. And I do. But that's my choice to go and watch other leagues/riders etc. So the question remains - do I want weekly PL standard league or every other week with better standard riders?? The 2nd option every time. I have no interest in regular PL standard weekly racing. I'd rather put my interests into other things including saving my money to go sliding more often myself. The long term future for the EL appears not having one (one big weak league couldn't be classed top flight racing) so will alienate further more who are fed up and drifting away because more and more top riders drop out. I will likely be one of them. As I have stated many times we should be doing more to bring the top boys back as that's the only way to save the top flight. As per usual nothing is done and the sport sheds more speedway folk with each passing season. We are fast becoming a league with no credibility in a year when we have the World Cup Final and a British World Champ. I can see myself commuting to Poland once a month to watch league racing and cut out the EL if it gets any weaker, guess I'd be 'doing a woffy'.
