Wolverhampton 2016

Wolverhampton seems to be interested in Swedish talent Joel Andersson who is a team mate with Freddie in Indianerna in Sweden.

Whatever the format next year, its an out and out number one that we need.No idea where we are gonna find one from.

Joel Andersson has a lot of potential for a kid of eighteen, but hes only going to be a second string, and we already have plenty of choices in that department.

As BWitcher says,Doyle would be the ideal candidate. But if he leaves Leicester, can only see him going back to Swindon.

After Monday night's fiasco with Batchel00R & the Danish version of Emile Heskey I'd think it is a stone cold cetainty :D

I'm sure I heard bomber say that he would relish riding in the same team as PK. Every chance then. :D

Peter Karlsson to join Coventry then

Think the only rider that should be considered for next year is Fredrik Lindgren on a 6.11 average and while Ricky has had some good scores for the same average you have Dakota North and Kenneth Bjerre who can score away from home.

Don't say that please. :D The bees management might read it and get ideas.

I make it around 3 years before we sign Scott Nicholls and 7 years before we sign Harris.

We signed Billy Hamill after his sell by date and there has been links with both Scott and Bomber in the past. In the past we are supposed to have been very close to getting Scott but that was the year went all out and signed Rickardsson on a 7 average and Gollob for his British debut and they stormed the league and Scott didn;t want to miss out on that season.

Scott has a deal with Belle Vue for 2016 in their new stadium and with Coventry still having one more year at Brandon I think Bomber will be back there next season ...... but in 2017 both could be available ;)

Hopefully the AGM this year sorts out an Elite League that can give the fans a more superior package with quality riders scoring the points instead of the lower ranked riders scoring points in easier races as a second string or fast track reserve. I firmly believe Britain HAS to go one race night with just 7 home and 7 away while ALL tracks enter the Premier League with 11 home and 11 away giving a better fixture list of at least 18 home meetings.

Once the format has been sorted, the limit set and the regulations in place should any team be free to sign up riders and not as Wolves did this season by not being able to fill the last two places with a back up heat leader to Freddie and a bargain second string and in the end starting with four riders that were simply second strings and crucified under a format that helped those with a good heat leader trio.

The one problem I see is of the eight clubs that were in the Elite League this year, there are question marks over a few about their future not only as an Elite League track but possibly as a track at all and for some the Premier League may be the only answer in 2016.

If the Elite League can operate next year then signing a number one is a must as this season has proved, Harris, Ward and Doyle all came to Monmore and went home undefeated and I think Bomber did it more than once while Steve Worrall also gained a 5 ride maximum at reserve.

Jason Doyle has finished as the top Elite rider in 2015 and signing him would be great but I would be just as pleased with three experienced heat leaders like Andersen, Lindgren and Jonsson and having those three would also give room to sign a rider to make Lindgren start as a second string and even have enough room for Bomber and Bjerre to give a top five that have all been GP winners ...... if only these were possible ?

Billy Hamill increased his average when he signed for Wolves in 2006 from a false 2005 average at Oxford due to injury. You can sign an old guy on a false average if they can increase and get better.

If that is true it is good news - a bit more variety, but hopefully they will not make it one home and away otherwise nothing will be gained.

And where are all those riders coming from?

No doubt there will be another overall weakening of teams, which may be by natural effect if some more of the top riders give the UK a miss as is rumoured.

Something has to be done to make the League larger with more meetings as it cannot viably stay as it is.

Well it could be weve got our first rider lined up.

According to CVS "Pete Adams has been very impressed with Max Clegg,s attitude and professionalism,so we have given him a chance to put down a marker for 2016 by putting him in the Olympique ".

I was hoping Zach Wajtknecht would have been given a run-out in the event, sure to be plenty of clubs interested in him.

I was hoping for Zack too, however he is injured so isn't an option anyway.

Pretty sure the deal CVS has with Ladbrokes states a minimum number of meetings to be held on a Monday night.I believe its 20 +

There's no way an Elite league is going to run on 7 home fixtures.

And on the other hand how are riders just riding in the Elite league supposed to make a living ?

Just out of interest, I've seen plenty of Wajtknecht at Birmingham this season and is clearly a real talent. However, I don't even think he's ready for the Premier League yet. He's guested a few times for Sheffield and his scores haven't been good. I think he needs at least another year at NL level.

I agree it would have been nice to see him at the Olympique though, and I think he had a good chance of getting a call were it not for injury.

Another season on NL can only help the lads learning in the sport but surely a reserve berth at a PL club would also be a advantage to him .

More chance for him to race and learn against more opponents in a higher grade of racing .

Think it depends if they are thinking of doing a PL draft

Didn't he said that about Josh Bates? ;)

Yep he did(perhaps it would have been better to have been given last pick instead of first ,in that way he wouldnt have had a choice in the matter).

But to be fair to Josh,he did ride with a lot more confidence in the last month of the season.

If as expected, riders like Garrity have to move into the team,s top 5,would that mean 2 tier riders like Bates would have to move up to replace them.

Obviously, depending on what riders get moved into the first tier, not sure id take Josh as first choice.

Interesting use of words in the OS report of Woffinden's win. 'Brilliant British.....' Not 'former Wolves rider' or 'Wolves asset' which for as long as I can remember are phrases they have always used for successes by anyone with a connection to the club. Reflected glory and all that. Something and nothing or....... Come to think of it maybe I was blind and/or drunk, or most probably blind drunk, but I didn't clock Adams in his pit last night???
