The thoughts of Rosco and Mark Lemon from the Echo.... http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/13768826.Speedway__Rival_bosses_Lemon_and_Rossiter_tip_Poole_Pirates_to_make_play_off_final/

Good luck to the Poole boys tonight.

"MARK Lemon and Alun Rossiter insist a final date with Pirates will be the prize for the winner of the play-off tie between Belle Vue and Swindon.

Lemon's Aces hold the upper hand over Rossiter's Robins after storming to a 50-36 victory in a curtailed meeting at Kirkmanshulme Lane on Monday.

But regardless of the overall outcome when the teams renew rivalries at Blunsdon on Monday, both bosses are in agreement that Pirates will provide the next opposition.

Targeting an unprecedented third straight Elite League title, Poole are yet to turn a wheel in their last-four clash with Coventry with the first leg set to take place at Brandon tonight (8pm).

Lemon told the Daily Echo: "I feel Poole are slight favourites ahead of Coventry. Injury concerns have hit Coventry quite hard recently.

"They are two evenly-matched teams but I feel that Poole just have the edge. Maciej Janowski doesn't appear to be suffering any ill-effects from his crash in the Grand Prix and has been one of the shining lights of the Elite League this year.

"Poole have done it before, they know how to do it and they have a lot of experience to draw on, so I would lean towards them.

"With all the teams in the play-offs, I think they are quite close and it's very difficult to pick a winner.

"These things can come down to who makes the most of the luck that's available."

Rossiter backed the view of his rival boss and even stated his belief that Pirates would win both legs of the semi-final.

The Swindon team boss, a close friend of Poole counterpart Neil Middleditch, said: "I'm sure Poole will get through in the end. For me, they have got too much in the tank.

"I think in riders like Davey Watt and Dakota North they have too much strength and I think they will win both legs.

"Poole have won at Coventry twice this season so it shouldn't hold any fear for them. They will be full of confidence and I think they will go up there to win."

Rossiter, a three-time league title winner with Pirates as a rider, has far from given up on a final clash with his former employers yet.

He added: "I know people will probably laugh but I believe in our firepower around Swindon. Peter Kildemand is quick round there, Grzegorz Zengota is a different rider on his own track and Nick Morris's head is back in the game.

"I genuinely believe we can do it. Belle Vue beat us by 14 and we can beat them by 14.

"If we ride with no fear then we're in with a very good chance. If not, we deserve to lose for our silly mistakes in the first leg."

I don't think it will make any difference Lisa.

You will either win because you are the better team or you won't!

Apart from that Coventry ( particularly Havvy! ) think the world is against them anyway

A summary of the 'admin' information for tonight:

COVENTRY are building up to their biggest match of the season at Brandon tonight (8pm) - as they face Poole in the Elite League play-off semi-final.

The Buildbase Bees had a major injury scare last weekend when skipper Chris Harris crashed heavily in Poland, but after treatment during the week he has been declared fit to race.

Bees also have Freddie Lindgren guesting for the injured Joonas Kylmakorpi, whilst the Pirates arrive with a full-strength line-up in the clash of the top two teams from the regular campaign - and a repeat of last year’s Final.

Tonight’s first leg tie was initially set to take place on Monday before being put back due to the weather - and conditions are now set fair with a good forecast for Friday.

Start-time is 8pm, with gates opening at 6pm.

Admission prices: £20 adults, £15 concessions, £5 children (11-16), under-11s free. Programme (24 pages) £2.50.

NB. Adult and concession admission prices will be discounted by £5 on production of a re-admission ticket from the Coventry v Lakeside fixture from Wednesday September 9. Season tickets are valid.

Pre-meeting, there will be some members of the Coventry Storm team present with their bikes for photo opportunities with the kids (or adults!).

In addition, Harris has launched a competition to design his 2016 liveries (http://coventrybees.co/news.php?extend.3353) and memorabilia gifts will be available for designs received outside the Track Shop with Bomber at 6.30pm tonight.

Bookings for coach travel to the second leg at Poole on Monday can be made at the BOSS kiosk this evening.

Even if we won at Coventry by 2-4 pts, there is no reason why Coventry couldn't do the same at Poole.

Prefer to take a lead down to Poole but yeah we have won at Poole by 9 this season. Poole were missing Janowski though.

Exactly right. I went to the final last year at Poole thinking we could still win there despite losing at home (ok I was very wrong) and I'd say the same this year too. A 10 point lead would be lovely but any lead will be fine with me.

Good luck Coventry for tonight's meeting..

And Good Luck to Peterborough with theirs. Did very well last night in the away leg! :)

........Shale Searcher...... Yep, weather set fair for R.O.D, Monday is another matter altogether...

Will do a likely forecast for Monday this evening......

Better not leave it too long as the match has to be called off 48 hours beforehand. That applies to Poole as well I presume not just Coventry.

With the 2nd leg Monday and the forecast poor it will be interesting to see if there's another early postponement as by midweek the forecast is a lot better! If not it will begger belief as the officials in question would yet again make speedway a laughing stock yet again

Let's get tonight's meeting done first and worry about that later ;)
