foreverblue
Ht 10 at King's Lynn would have been run if the meeting had started on time. Instead, we witnessed a parade, the riders going round on the track for a little practicse, regraded, watering!!!! before a race was run. The meeting could have started at 7.30, or dead on 7.45 to allow for a parade. Neither happened. the big black cloud approaching Saddlebow Road came closer and closer while all this nonsense went on. King's Lynn's fault entirely Belle Vue lucky that meeting didn't start on time then. You digging out the hole again this year? He should be,he digs enough holes for himself on this forum!! Harris is going to hospital as in a lot of pain with his left foot and arm Keeping everything crossed that nothing's broken. He's irreplaceable for Coventry Harris will have no problem riding through the pain barrier for Coventry, i thought it was said he rode on after the accident. Janowski rode today but still struggling judging by his score. So both number one's struggling and with no viable alternatives. mdmc82
Even though rain was forecast from 10am onwards, it has started already. The ground is already wet and has been for the last hour.

I dont anyone has said it wasnt the right call, well done Coventry for the early decision, maybe usually wouldnt havent been called off until this morning but sometimes forecasters get it right! Shale Searcher
The rain arrived around 4/4.30 this morning and is due to clear to showers around 10/11am. Brandon could end up catching all the showers this afternoon and evening or none of them... I'm not saying it's the wrong call, just to early... Speedway has been ridden in all sorts of weather over the years, it's just now it seems it's a sunshine only sport, unless it's absolutely spot-on, sky aren't interested.... GoFastTurnLeft
Really hope both Magic and Bomber are feeling a lot better on Friday. Both will likely ride regardless but both teams really need them at full strength. Don't know what the weather is doing in Coventry, but looking out my window in Bournemouth definitely seems the right call to postpone. Hope BV Swindon is still on so I have something to watch tonight though.

They're damned if they do and damned if they don't. Meeting goes ahead in wet weather = wouldn't be on if Sky weren't there, they're putting riders at risk.... Meeting cancelled on forecast = Sky only interested if perfect conditions Funny old World we live in Edited September 14, 2015 by Reliant Robin

coventry1963
Just been driving about 10 miles from Brandon in seriously heavy rain and still raining now. If Brandon wasn't wet before it soon will be! Strange to cancel so early but the forecast certainly seems to be being fulfilled so far. Shale Searcher
A drying breeze, a good trackman, should be able to cope with today....
NeilWatson
A drying breeze, a good trackman, should be able to cope with today.... And no doubt would, if we were racing.......
Shale Searcher
And no doubt would, if we were racing....... I know that, just can't get my head how we've always had wet meetings, yet just lately, it seems as though the whole speedway scene has suddenly turned into sugar, the first drop of rain in the forecast and we are doomed!!! Can't get wet, we'll all melt!! Just dissapointed that no effort has been made to get this meeting on, if it's skys call, then that is just plain and simply wrong..... foreverblue
Still think its the right decision forecast was awful and i expect the track is still wet.
javw
Drying breeze? Just had another downpour less than one mile from Brandon!
Alan_Jones
Do we need tyres similar to (and would it work) what F1 calls "full wets" ? Maybe, and at too many tracks these days it'd be a good idea to switch to slicks half way through a meeting.
Shale Searcher
Still think its the right decision forecast was awful and i expect the track is still wet. Yes, I know, but we've always had rain, it's not a new phenomenon, what's got into speedway..... It's a summer sport, but summer is renowned for heavy rain storms, never used to get rain offs 2 days before!!!

Maybe they would have left it until this morning but in any case it is a good thing as Bomber and Magic need time to recover so we can have both top riders going at it not gate and go like it would have been on a damp track.
