BritPete
I enjoyed it,even although the track was slick the riders could try any moves without fear of hitting ruts and taking off. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the meeting. At last You are coming round to the great and glorious play-offs, that most fans enjoy!
SteveLyric2
Well done to all those at KL that purchased the #DW43 wristbands. Rosco reports £400 raised (despite all the booing!!). Edited September 15, 2015 by Skidder1
Odds On
great performance by the Aces, it appeared that Swindon had one too many show ponies who didn't turn up when it really mattered!
BritPete
Besides the fact I've been agreeing with the pokc sycophants for years over the two good but overdone points of the pokc (because I am able to appreciate both points of view unlike a few bigoted morons who can't) you do need to be a bit of a detective to get the main point of the post you quoted, therefore that I'm afraid is a whoosh. Lol! I was just delighted that you enjoyed it. Lol.

Nice to see so many sycophants at KL last night? normally when Belle Vue on Sky on it looks like a trailer for One Man and his dog.
theblueboy
Anyway, well done to Belle Vue. A professional job well done and a result that leaves the Robins a bit of a mountain to climb. Of course they can do it but have to perform as The Aces did in the opening heats and get the tactical out by about heat 6 to have any chance. I was one of the few that made the long trip up and regretted it from heat 1. Shades of our performance in the final at Monmore. I don't have a problem with Batch but he is not a leader of men nor does he lead by example, well certainly not this season. He probably is captain by default but I am never convinced he will set the tone and his nervous twitch and subsequent tumble just adds credence. Zengi out in Heat 1 to set the tone and get the team moving in the right direction. The rest of the team are not blameless either and to have no points from your heat leaders, who happen to ride the track well, is embarrassing. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your outlook, I will not be there next week but in my heart I know the season will finish on Monday. stevebrum
The pokc is literally a sideshow for The Aces. Priceless.
SCB
I think it a bit rich the Belle Vue fans moaning about their bad luck. They won well and should be pleased about their performance. If you want to see an example of bad luck how about King's Lynn - injuies to Schlein and Kerr and having their match against Leicester rained off after nine heats when well ahead and losing the restaging. Aces wouldn't even have been in the playoffs if Lynn had had a fair rub of the green this season. TBF BV lost Stead and got Grajzonek in his place. They also score 40 in every away meeting. If you add just 1 point on to every one of their league meetings, they actually gained 7 league points and leap ahead of Swindon and by virtue of turning their home draw with Coventry into a win go ahead of Coventry on race points. I do agree Lynn were unlucky though and have already said so. It does make you realise how close the league would have been without injury and how Swindon, who have ended up 8 points behind Poole could have actually missed out on the play-offs! Gemini
It must have very disappointing for the Swindon management to see very few fans at KL last night, although I do accept that the weather forecast was a little discouraging. There were loads of BV fans at Wolves last week, me included, and that did not go unnoticed to the team and also the management. With respect the Manchester to Wolverhampton journey is a sight lot nearer than the 200 mile one from the Swindon area. The dodgy weather forecast too wouldn't have encouraged many to bother. I admire those that did.
ouch
Hopefully we will book our spot in the final as we await our opponents, how ironic would it be for us to potentially stop Poole from nearly equalling our triple crown?. Aces til I die. No need for The Aces to stop Poole as this is the Elite League whereas The Aces achievements were in the British League. Comparing different competitions some 43 years apart is, well, no comparison. You many as well compare what The Aces achieved in the 70's with their four on the trot triumph in the National League only 36 year previous.

What a load of nonsense of course there the same competition, just cause you rename it, it's still the Champions of Britain as it's always been, changing the name means nothing. krompa
On Polish TV there was some pretty incredible story about Josh Grajczonek. They said he was almost ready to quit sport and fly back to Australia after Lewis Kerr accident. Wasn't aware that Kerr's wife was pregnant and it all had such big impact on Josh. Luckily Lewis is getting better and Josh can still ride and enjoy it. What a hero he was yesterday. 9+1 from number 3. Excellent performance.
lastword
Any idea who would have choice of the gates gates in Ht15? Gates 1 and 3 - 6 winners and 36 pts, gates 2 and 4 - 8 winners and 48 points after heat 14. Anyone who saw the Swindon riders walking the track before the meeting would have seen a young lad with them (5 or so years old? Swindon fans will probably know who he is). We smiled as he went to the gate positions and did the usual kicking and stamping to test each one himself. With all the accusations being bandied about who is at fault for the Robins defeat I'm surprised nobody has yet blamed him.

I'm happy to concede the point and agree with you. So the Pirates have another two titles on the trot to match Belle Vue's four but they'd have to add yet another one to match Wembleys five on the trot. The race is on. SCB
The only think I'd say makes a difference is the number of teams in the league at the time. More teams = harder to win a title. Poole have done it in 8-10 team leagues, BV did it with how many teams in the league? I make it 19,19 and 18 when BV won their 3 BL titles on the trot and 16 when they won the BL2 in 1969 so slightly more impressive.
