Nlrc 2015

If Kyle Hughes is in it he could mount a serious title challenge. Has been excellent at Rye this season.

I forgot about Kyle!!

This could be one of the most competitive NLRC meetings for years

Really looking forward to it, hope Kyle does come good, was really unlucky not to win it in 2009 I think it was when he broke down while leading Craig Cook in a run off for the title.

Can't quite work out how that line up has been decided.

The ten number one riders are:

Adam Ellis

Liam Carr

Darryl Ritchings (with Dan Greenwood done for the season)

Max Clegg

Bradley Wilson-Dean

Ben Morley

Jake Knight

Danny Halsey

Rob Branford

Lee Payne

The next six in the averages are then:

Zach Wajknech

Tom Perry

Matt Williamson

Kyle Hughes

James Shanes

Jon Armstrong

Surely all the riders with averages higher than Mountain, Ayres and Owen haven't been invited and declined?

Looks a good line up nonetheless!

I prefer the 20 heat format, winner takes all, rather than the semi & final which can sometimes be unfair.

Danny Halsey was a surprise winner for me in 2014, but I can't see him making the podium this time. Engine failures & exclusions can play a part, but I can't see past Morley, Wilson-Dean, Branford, Ellis & Clegg, with Hughes an outside chance.

My prediction: 1st-Ellis; 2nd-Branford; 3rd-Morley

I assume its a max of 2 riders per team so that rules out Perry. I have no idea about Williamson but maybe Shanes has a grasstrack meeting. As well as Williamson, the only 2 overlooked are Atkin & Hopwood, maybe Atkin wanted to give a younger rider a ride! He only seems to want to ride for Buxton these days. Stokes is replacing injured Knight for KL. Then the next 3 in the averages are Ayres, Owen & Mountain as everyone else is injured! But they'll cover their bases and call them wildcards!!

My prediction: 1st Branford, 2nd Ellis, 3rd Hughes & 4th Morley.

I don't know how the selection works, a quick lunchtime greensheet would suggest (e&oe)

Ellis 10.33

Wison-Dean 10.26

Branford 10.06

Clegg 9.66

Morley 9.46

Wajnecht 9.4

Perry 8.78

Williamson 8.43

Greenwood D. 8.51

Halsey 8.38

Hughes 8.28

Payne 8.13

Shanes 7.94

Atkin 7.79

Armstrong 7.88

Knight 7.62

Ayres 7.44

Hopwood 7.41

Owen 7.32

Perks 7.28

Stokes 7.08

Greaves 7.08

Spiller 7.04

Mountain 7.03

Plainly not all are available for different reasons, but personally I would rather see the best riders in the National league than two from each team, even if that does exclude top riders from some teams.
