waco
Kings long tail was again the reason for this latest defeat to a Raiders team with strength in depth..Score .. was 40-49..I know I'm biased being Ben Morley,s grandad ,,but I thought this was his best performance ever at Central Park a 15 point max beating. Rob Branford 3 times and Kyle Hughes 4 times in the meeting ,,and they were not all trap to line victory,s either .battling for his points is what impressed me the most..Another battler Danny Ayers scored 7 points,.James Shane's 4.points had an off night and always struggles in heat 13 any way..A sort of unnoticed 6 points for Aaron Baseby, but seems to always win that one race..Adam Sheperd chipped in with 4 plus 1 and Danno verge was unlucky with an engine failure without which would have doubled his 2 points ..Ben Basford had bike problems and looked very slow in his two completed races..Branford Hughes and Priest all looked impressive for the Raiders who fully deserved their victory,,Crowd looked about average to me and the track according to Ben was good.. hackneyrocket
Well done to the Raiders, more points on the road.
cityrebel
An enjoyable hard fought match at Central Park tonight, with some committed racing from both sides. The raiders deserved their win that keeps them in with a chance of a gold cup place.
Alex2000
Did they get heat 15 done or not? Just it didn't say on updates at 8:
waco
Yes heat 15 was completed eventually. After the third attempt Hugh's and Ayres excluded first bend falls..Morley beat Branford
Sings4Speedway
Im running out of superlatives for Ben's performances recently battling for every point and definitely deserved his max (despite being pulled back in heat 15 when Brandford was asleep at the start) Danny's passion was there to see and deserved more than his 7 for effort alone. 2 non finishes for Shanes hurt his score. But again the tail was woefully long. Basford turned in his worst performance since his debut, Verge only featured competitively in a race where he got a roller and Sheppard pocketed others misfortunes. Brandford, Priest & Hughes all did what they do so well but Bowtell was the one who impressed me most, gated well every time and took some good riding to go past him (although he does look a little wobbly being passed). Glad to see all riders get up ok after the numerous tumbles and well done to the Raiders completing the full set over the Kings and securing a Gold Cup place.
Ben91
Big question for the Kings is going to be who to let go this winter? Would imagine one of Morley, Shanes or Ayres will have to go or they will be faced with a long tail yet again.
Alex2000
Where to start well. Start over with your 3 pointers (cousins will be alright) but Sheppard verge and I reckon Baseby will go too. Every team will need an overhaul next season realistically 38-40 limit on points as 36 is a bit low.
Sings4Speedway
I suspect a 38 point limit next year. Cousins at reserve would be alright although funding appears to be an issue. I would have had Baseby back in heartbeat (despite his slipping attendances) unless Marc Owen becomes available. My suspicion is that Danny might be the one to move on? Morley, Shanes & Baseby to return. Basford on the shopping list but will opt for somewhere more northern. Sheppard & Verge no thanks! Ben91
I fear the Raiders may well be non starters next season. With the Silver link to Kent there's a prime bottom order waiting to be signed at Rye right now. A 38 point limit and the Kings could retain their top three and add Hume, Bowtell and Hunter leaving about 5 points to spare.
Sings4Speedway
Not quite as Alfie Bo & Hume are pushing 4 on their averages now. However Bowtell is a good shout. Think Hume would benefit from a bigger home track like Kings Lynn and Hunter lacks something for me but im sure he will get signed somewhere. Ultimately at Kent the signings will be late and even if they under perform they will remain in the team.
TurnTwo
I think Kent will have 1. Ayres 8 2. Baseby 6.5 3. Mason 7 4. Sam woods 3.49 5. Shanes 8 6. Basford 3 7. George Hunter
waco
I would not rule out friday night elite league racing yet ?
Alex2000
I just can't see Kent in the EL league. For one the stupid curfew won't be any good!

Alan_Jones
from 7:30? 6.30 I believe, but that includes warm up time.
Alex2000
6.30 I believe, but that includes warm up time. Not so bad then but if crowds are as low as some say then they need to pick up. Would this be rather than Lakeside or not? CP is a nice enough stadium just needs the people
solrac
6.30 on a Friday night in the M25/M2 area? Sounds grim. Even if enough locals can make it, the away fan count would be low. Kent deserve success but running on a Friday would be risky unless Lakeside went pop.

CP is a nice enough stadium just needs the people I think it was done when a Lakeside move was a possibility but now that seems unlikely it's still better for families than Mondays.
