Recommended Posts

Mr trump is not sn official of plymouth speedway snf you are not n being truthful about kyles comments on social media are you he described sheffield as a bad at the office as said track could of been better, pretty much oneline, hes commented on poor shower facilities and pit phone not working at scunny hes not mentioned he was wrongly excluded for touching tapes it was his crash helmet not bike,he beat davies on the line but the ref awarded it to davies, hes not mentioned the thuggery shown to jack holder being punched on track and in pits get your facts right and take your personal vendetta against plymouth speedway and individual riders elsewhere it was fisher you had your knife into earlier I bet you been dying for us to lose so you could carry on with your agenda I expect your fellow stoogeswill be on by the end of the day you have all been conspicuous by your absence recently!

So Newman lies too.... Cos he blatantly touched the tapes before the tapes caught his helmet... And Davies beat him fair and square, it was close but it was Davies by half a wheel length. They're the facts....

Great meeting last night probably the best I've seen this year. Well done to all the riders of both teams and the staff at Scunny.

Yes, as a meeting it didn't have an end-of-season feel to it at all. Scunny, despite having not a lot to race for, were well motivated and went out and did the job. The Devils tried hard, but came up short, and their frustration was there for all to see.

Brilliant speedway between Alex Davies and Kyle Newman in Heat 6.

All the best

Rob

Cracking final home meeting of the season last night.

Who would have put money from 8-16 that the Scorpions who win the next six races with 5-1s!!!

All the best

Rob

Probably most of the people in the stadium, given the huge advantage of gates 2 & 4 last night. Spoilt the meeting a little................but only a little and it was still very good.

The star of the show for me was Jack Holder. I thought Scunny's superb racing track would suit him and it most certainly did. Brilliant win in heat 14 (shame about the knob who started on him after the race) and a fantastic ride in heat 15 to lead only to fall whilst way in front. One of the PL's top riders next season.

Can't argue about heat 6. Fantastic stuff from Davies & Newman.

Yawn yawn yawn... You appear to have failed your mission Lewy, take a chill pill and get over it.

Rob was faced with a situation with Theo, dealt with it like any good promoter would...he actually went to lengths and explained it pretty well to the crowd too. Best promoter in the business.

No doubt if the situation had been the other way around - with Scunny going for a play off place and Plymouth treating a rider as 'withholding his services' and bringing in a guest - you would have held Ashley Taylor as the best promoter in the business.

Truth is what happened is shabby at best. Pijper just chose not to ride and I fail to see why Scunthorpe and, in particular, Pijper himself should not suffer for it. As it is, it will affect neither of them. Perhaps riders should be banned for matches, not days.

The only thing is Penny Cross is spot on. Word I got was that it was Trump - promoter or not - who was kicking off about it when he wouldn't have hesitated to do the same thing (or worse) himself - as would virtually every other promoter in British Speedway. Its not so much the promotions that are in the wrong as the lack of control that allows them to get away with it.

On a final note, I am becoming all the more optimistic that the best racing track in Britain will be coming to the PL tapes in 2016. TFFT.

I think the ref called heat 6 wrong, I think Newman won that. Thought Holder's move on Davis was a very hard but refs rarely exclude riders if they don't go down. Not sure what was going on with Holder and Compton.

A nice way to finish a tough year I hope Rob and the promotion are back next year. It will be interesting to see what Rob wants from the AGM.

A decent meeting last night, not one of the best but as always a good track and some brill racing. The Scorps got to grips with the situ, put in a strong effort and pulled it off to secure 6 x 5.1s on the trot., Plymouth come back with the tactical ride earning an 8. 1 that brought the Devils back into the match. Plenty to race for at that stage but Scorps come out on top. Not that I would have minded Plymouth getting the win as I would rather see them get the play-off spot than Ipswich. What happened at Scunny when Tungate deliberately raced into Josh I will never forget. He should have had a permanent ban! Go Plymouth get those needed points at Rye House.....Good luck!

I'm a speedway fan of 50 years. During that time Westcountry teams have had a rough time. It hasn't been easy for The Devils. Geographics alone work against us!

I'm also a rugby man and not a shrinking violet. I like to think I am a good sport.

So, in the best spirit I can muster .. I hope that Scunthorpe survive to ride on next year.

That said, the things written and the antics that went on before, during and after Friday night's meeting does speedway no good and makes Scunthorpe Speedway look like a disgrace to speedway. Those words were not fro me but from a neutral who was there .. a Somerset supporter!

For my part ... whatever went on, THANK YOU Scunthorpe for making The Devils go to Rye House with a point to prove. The sign of a great team.

The Devils deserve this success and if Scunthorpe supporters are a sporting as they like to think they'll show a little magnanimity in the outcome for Plymouth.

I look forward to seeing The Scorpions at The SBA in sunny Devon next year.

That is out of order! Its not as if Plymouth has had the support it needed this year either and you wouldnt even have finished the season if your promotion hadnt been bailed out.

You got what you wanted your playoff spot now leave off these guys!

Rogero. I cannot for life of me understand what you mean about " what went on at Scunny" From the stand on the start line I could see practically everything that went on. The only thing I did notice was in one race one of your riders, I think holder made a dangerous move at high speed on I think it was Davies that resulted in a few Boos. After the race near the pits was bit of scuffle, look the other way and you'd have missed it. Now had you been talking about the Ipswich meeting. That was something happening every minute from the time that Tungate deliberately raced into Josh after the race had finished. We were a very angry crowd to say the least! Believe it or not the Scunny fans wanted desperately for you to go through to the play offs rather than Ipswich. We wish you luck now that you've achieved it.

A quick question regarding Heat 14:

After Jack Holder came steaming under Alex Davies on the last bends of this race, Alex went wide, nearly fell, and I'm sure he lost second place to team-mate Carl Wilkinson. I'm not the only one who had Wilko down as 13+1 - for example, this was what was listed on the BSPA website.

And yet the referee's programme shows Alex still as second. Live updates also show Alex as second - but they could have simply taken this from what was announced on the night.

Which rider do other people have down as second in this race? Obviously it doesn't affect the 53-40 scoreline, it's just a neatness thing!!

All the best

Rob

Heat 14... Ref called it white, blue, red over the line.. that's also what I recorded on my sheet as they crossed the line. Therefore, 1st Holder, 2nd Davies, 3rd Wilkinson.

Maybe Graham announced it wrong?

Incident Recorder.

Cheers. No Graham announced blue (Davies) as second. It was just several of us thought Wilko had got it.

Seems we were wrong.

All the best

Rob
