Newcastle V Edinburgh Sunday 13th September 2017 2nd Leg Plknock-out Cup

Yes, one trying to be fair and honest, and another apparently having a different agenda. Why.

I've always found scotchopper to be fair and honest so is it you that has a different agenda?

He is a great supporter of the team and the club and works hard to help keep the club alive.

i assume you are the same with your club/team?

He said Newcy were very worthy winners and that the twins were "fantastic" and "not far behind [fantastic]".

He said the rest struggled to make any real impact on our top 4 - well ok Lindgren beat Wolbert but Kevin was beaten in each of his rides.

Other than that, Rosen and Neilsen didn't do much and even though Aarnio picked up 9 from 8 rides he only beat our reserves plus Erik and also lost to Erik.

So his comment all seems pretty fair to me.

And what happened with Cookie seems to be down to what colour glasses you wear.

But as has been pointed out to you "stepped off the bike to foot scrape a groove, which is an offence." is actualy not an offence at all.

No, and that doesn't follow ?

Just cos someone is keeping the club alive doesn't mean they are necessity unbiased. In fact my version was liked by both cyclone and big Al, so that I would suggest could imply their acceptance of it.

Can't remember complaints from Edinburgh when your reserve had 8 rides in a previous meeting at Brough.

Hardly, I think i have given Cookie plenty of praise. and i'm not a Monarch.

Yes, my mistake, it was for 2 mins exceeded

scotchopper started his post by not liking the meeting, despite the cracking racing and excitement both teams generated. I think everyone I saw, and spoke to, enjoyed the meeting, and wished the Monarchs well in the Final. He must be someone on an agenda, or a miserable sod, if he could't/didn't enjoy that meeting.

We thought that he was excluded on the basis of making no attempt to start the heat, and actually stepped off the bike to foot scrape a groove, which is an offence.

I've questioned this in the past as I watch Richard Lawson do it regularly . Apparently it's ok as long as you're holding onto the handlebars . Another one of speedway's pointless rules .

Yes. I think it was originally intended to be introduced, along with the bike only being in the forward direction, but there must have been difficulties in applying it.

As an Edinburgh fan, I think Cookies had that exclusion coming for a while, 3 times before that race he was still having his clutch adjusted with about 30 seconds to go, so to then come round and get off the bike and start gardening, with it being the third restart and particularly McGregor being the ref I wasn't surprised at all he got excluded. If he wants to garden as much as he does he should be round faster.

Just read my post again trying to work out my agenda but can't find it. I didn't say it was a bad meeting, there were some good races and Stevie Worral was excellent. I said it never really took light, which it didn't imo. the atmosphere was very flat and I have been to many more electric meetings at brough even when the racing was poorer.

The main reason for this was the score in the 1st leg, as I said before if it had been closer this could have been a classic. Even a close match on the night never really looked likely with the monarchs never really in it.

It also dragged a bit with a good number of restarts, a couple of falls, a wait for a paramedic, watching the water truck fixing the hole and then the interval, god knows why they didn't just do that at the same time.

No paramedic, but two Doctors who examined Simon DURING a track grade, and taped up his shoulder. I am sure with Cookie in your ranks you would be quite used to restarts by now.

it was introduced in the off season and actually a rider was exclueded in workingtons first meeting this year but aparantly it was later revoked and the new rule lasted all of about 1 week into the new season matt ford and his oppo's must have come foul to it so it was scrapped
