Leicester Lions 2016

Maybe the track work is to add a shortcut to turns 3 and 4 for the Leicester riders only so as to keep things more even!

Maybe, just maybe we might have 7 riders who want to ride for Leicester, who are committed and who try 110% all of the time! Rather than having a team of superstars, that put their UK team second, that don't cry off with upset tummies, or hay fever! Just maybe, we'll hold our own and ride with passion, and a mid table finish or better would be an achievement.. Rather than under perform and under achieve.

Like sam masters and jason doyle they were loyal but showed none by the management and much better than all your riders you've signed....

I would agree with you on these points, but I think that's more like the Premier League. The combination of different leagues, double up, and random race nights makes the EL very dispersed.

Once again, people are pointing out Leicesters team could look weak in last years elite league. 1) how many times have we lost meetings at reserve? Our reserves should be a bonus this year, not a hindrance like the past two seasons 2) walasek, Wozniak and Klindt haven't let us down before. Be nice to try and add another two that want to ride for the lions (like steady) 3) all teams are weaker than last season. The league isn't as strong. If we can build a team a similar strength to others, maybe, just maybe we can improve on the last few seasons

I see your point and commend your enthusiasm. If you are more than a point under the limit though its going to an uphill struggle.

Correction, Doyle held us to ransom over race nights, Masters would have also missed meetings due to PL fixtures, and no guests at 2 and 4, perhaps not such a good signing.

I was told a while back that the Leicester track was being altered this winter, but I was told that it's only the 3rd/4th bend because DH didn't want to do both ends at once.

I was also told at the same time that Leicester were signing Kenneth Bjerre and a Polish heat-leader. Was starting to think it was all duff info, but now the track alterations are becoming reality, maybe the signings will be named too.

I know, but if you can't be optimistic before it goes wrong you never can be And tbf, Wozniak and walasek averages are both below 6, which are probably false averages

The problem with Walasek last year was he was always just coming back from injury!! A clean, injury free run is what the lad needs, hopefully this year will be that year. Wozniak, well, first year in Britain, young, a bit naive, I expect at least 1.5 pts on his home average and at least a point on his away average this year.

Even on good days we've rarely had meetings in the bag by heat 13 at home. The likely lack of clout in heats 13 & 15 is a concern. Away meetings? Let's not go there. A lot has been said about our apparent strength at reserve. This is okay when there are middle order wobbles but will not compensate for top end fire power shortfalls. As averages develop we could see heat leader and second string berths changing regularly without recognised heat leaders. As with the sport these days however, it is unlikely that the starting 7 will all still be in place by May so at least we will have different riders to moan about by then! Keeps it fresh!

Held to ransom?? Absurd. The situation just became incompatible and parting of the ways was a natural outcome of that.

Just like to say, Hemsley gets a lot of stick on here, but he should get some credit where it's due. He's listened to the fans, riders etc views and is now paying for the track alterations to be made. Lets hope its succesful.

Yes well done David for at last taking notice of all the comments about the track and doing something about it. Looks like it is quite extensive work as well and not just the 3rd/4th bend like someone mentioned on here? Hopefully I will be back at Leicester more regularly this season as long as Lucy is still allowed.

Yes, but they've got to start somewhere.

Perhaps they're just practicing on 3/4 to see how it goes then if all goes well start on 1/2. :P

Well done the promotion for accepting the track shape did not allow good racing.

That was the biggest step of all , but the answer lies in making the bends longer , which can only be achieved by making the straights further apart , not by moving the Kerbs in . Is there any track in the country with a centre green as narrow as BP ?

Using Google Earth, I reckon Lakeside, Wolverhampton, Belle Vue and Edinburgh are all narrower. Prior to the current changes at BP, Newcastle was slightly wider, and was about 5m shorter between the apexes of the corners. These changes at BP would appear to make the dimensions of the centre almost the same as Newcastle, although Newcastle's track is narrower.
