mdmc82
Coventry and the track staff did I good job getting the meeting on and getting the track in racing condition after the heavy downpour we had not long before the meeting. Â Why are all your posts always so super aggressive and angry towards the person to which you're replying, even if it's completley un-merited within the context of the conversation? Â Very odd chap. tyretrax
Not really ...but at end of the day it's a fuss over nothing .the re run was always going to be a 5-1 anyhow . Always going to be a 5-1? I have seen riders falling off or having an engine failure so it could have finished 0-3.

Midland Red
It's a pity we don't have the speedway equivalent of Sky's Monday Night Football, where a team of "experts" with a load of gizmos could go through all the contentious starts - recalled and not recalled - from last night, and see just who, if any, actually moved before the tapes moved, and who, if any, made perfectly good, legal, starts I think the results would surprise a few on here, also Kelvin Tatum!
ouch
If there is a technological solution to these starting issues it needs to be adopted as the continual restarts very much get on people's nerves. Also refs do seem to have favourites who they keep an eye on thus missing the other participants. The other thing refs appear to do is make a wrong call, then make a wrong call to the other team to compensate which again is a pain on the arse. I watched a couple of starts that where pulled back in Sky box slo mo whilst the broadcast itself was showing a slo mo so it was super slow and it showed me that the tapes moved before the rider, they were just very good starts.
speedwaysliders
James Sargent has found a way to make a perfect start, either watching the magnets or he has great reflexes.I do feel sorry for him as hes clearly looking at something on the starting gate that gives him an advantage and hes been well and truelly battered for it.If he is watching the magnets on the starting gate, its the tapes themselves that are causing problems as at some tracks they go up so uneven, look loose,or go up with a bowed effect. In my eyes hes just unlucky that tracks are using naff old equipment, plus refs seem to be focusing on him.

It amazes me that a man thinks he can judge fairly that another man has made a judgement on the tapes fairly! What this suggests is all referees must have super human reactions! BangerBoy
Right I have just watched the meeting frame by frame at the starts, Heat 4 Sarg did move but only just, Rerun Kildermand roller not just moved, Heat 7 Morris did not move both times it was called back, Heat 8 Sarg did not move, Heat 9 Kildermand moved, heat 10 Batch Moved, heats 13 and 15 Zengota Moved, My feeling again I will say Transponders on bikes, and Ban bad refs, Also send Rosco to specsavers, Who cares if riders move or guess as long as they don't touch tapes they take the risk. He definitely has a 'system'... Â Watching him, he does seem to drop the clutch as soon as he sees the magnets 'twitch'.... Â Fair play to him, as when you watch in 'super slow mo' he often doesnt move before the tapes starts to rise, yet to the 'naked eye' he is found 'guilty' as he leads the other three by a distance ... Â His reputation does seem to be going before him, a reputation maybe achieved by doing the same on tracks with no 'slow mo' TV coverage to support his starts??
mdmc82
Shame Hans fell when in a 5-1 in the last lap as would have only been a 4 point loss with a patched up team. I believe Howarth would have easily scored than 3 points from 5 rides. Only 4 from Fricke rides as well. Â Brilliant double figures for our own 2 riders of our top 5. Sounds like Hans had a great night. Â Lots of positives to take from tonight. Just need to bring in a good replacement for Joonas now. Â Good to see the teams coming together in the photo for Darcy Ward.

I think all these 're-run' and 'call backs' do more harm than good. It kills the meeting as far as 'stop - go' is concerned, and the time it wastes is tremendous. I much prefer the old days when it was a competition between Rider and the Ref. So what if the Rider anticipates the starts, he Knows the gamble. I remember Mauger pushing the tapes 2 or 3 times before the race started. he didn't always get away with it. But the fact remains he didn't have the number of re-runs we have now.. I thought it added to the tension to the meetings and created excitement.  Now its just STOP ; GO; STOP; Back to the Pits; 2min warning; Rerun; STOP; Back to the pits; I'm sure its another reason the fans don't come back........

Sir Jasper
Chuffed for Lewis got a well earned point from the back in heat two, later on had a great heat win a huge effort after being out for weeks.Fricke was the difference tonight he has always impressed me. Â Got to say for the whinging people do about Garrity he was also very chuffed for Lewis Rose and was captured congratulating him heartily by the camera's. Â An enjoyable meeting, I presume Poole will pick Belle Vue (unless we go ahead with RR) so the semis will be keenly thought and hard to pick an overall winner.
