Coventry V Swindon - Wednesday 2nd September

Recommended Posts

If you dont want to spend £10 then dont but what a silly pointless message from you, why would someone pay you £10 unless that was your effort at sarcasm!

Im not a lover of horton but what else is he meant to do regarding the weather? Or we could all just blame the uk weather on horton on coventry.

Way to many moaners on this site that seem to wanna put the boot in to everyone & anyone at every given chance!

Totally agree, getting ridiculous now, either go/don't go... If you want to criticise, then fair enough, but be critical.. but where you are critical, what other could be done to alleviate the problem you're critical of..

With the conditions tonight as they were, thought it was a decent meeting.. obviously we would prefer the Sun shining, 23C, riders according to programme, free beer and a close meeting, a bit of passing, bit of controversy, with a home win...!! But it's not like that, 99.5% of the time, it can't be.

Good meeting with lots happening on and off the track.

As far as the Coventry guest is concerned it looks like the people who put their money where their mouth is got it right and the gobby fans had to skulk off with a big chunk of humble pie, lol!

The ref was poor again, could have let the Kildermand race go to two laps and then award, way to inconsistent with pulling back starts and how Andersen was excluded when rose slid into him us a bit of a mystery but I suppose it all added to the entertainment in a strange way?

Thought Andersen was the right call.

Surprised that some (not all) Bees fans were concerned at the choice of Max Fricke as a guest tonight.

I'm pretty sure Cov used him last year as a guest more than once & he did well for them - someone will check the Updates site & prove me right/wrong. Weren't there rumours too in the winter that Bees were interested in signing him before he ended up in Manchester?

Credit to all 14 riders for doing their best to put on a show tonight in real tricky conditions.

I thought Max would be a terrible choice riding as a heat leader against a strong side like Swindon, how wrong I was! He does seem to go well in the wet as he did last season for us, an inspired choice!

I also would never have picked him and King for heat 15, so good job Havvy makes the decisions and not me!

Now I'm off to enjoy some humble pie! :-)

You are bang on there, he did guest regularly towards end of season, a lot thought he would be Bees bound at the end of last season......

Quality rider with bright future if he can stay focussed and injury free..

Never at Coventry. He had great meetings for us at Swindon, BV, Leciester and I think Wolves. But was never that good at Brandon. In fact tonight is his first good meeting at Brandon. He score 2 as a heat leader in 1 meeting and 7 from 5 as a second string in another and that included beat Tom Stokes, the blank Coventry had reserve than night and Rob Lambert when he had an EF.

Well done the Bees. Good meeting considering the conditions. I'm looking forward to watching it tomorrow for all the pits action!

Special mention for the cherry, who blossomed tonight.

Shame that JK is out for the season. Hortons searching high and low for a replacement. What points do we have to play with?

Didn't hear it mentioned tonight at the stadium that Joonas is out for season. Is that confirmed? 😕

I would have loved us to sign him as a second string, I don't think anyone was questioning that he is a good rider, more a case of on paper you would expect us to score more points from RR than Max would get as a heat leader against such a strong team. I'm pleased to say he rode very well tonight.

There's no doubt the wet track worked in our favour, if it had been dry I think Swindon would have taken the win but sometimes these things go in your favour and sometimes they don't.

Enjoyable meeting. I was up on my feet when Rosie won his ride.

That was the difference between having a big number one and not having one.

Anyone else notice Kildemand had no 43 on his race suit. Not sure if it was a tribute or maybe it was Darcy's suit.

Chuffed for Lewis got a well earned point from the back in heat two, later on had a great heat win a huge effort after being out for weeks.Fricke was the difference tonight he has always impressed me.

Brilliant win tonight for the Bees 🐝

I did question Havvy's heat 15 choices but he got it spot on.

I was very wrong about Fricke. Brandon is the track he usually struggles on but he was brilliant to watch tonight. Has always gave 100% when guesting.

Kildemand is getting annoying now with how often he just drops the bike. Seen it so much lately in the SGP & SEC and again tonight just cos he was getting beat by Garrity & Howarth. He's getting a reputation.

It was good to see Rose back from his injury.

Congratulations to both teams on making the play offs

Given the conditions a pretty good meeting.

My observations;

Havelock as normal was full of crap accusing everybody.

James Sargeant moves in anticipation on most of his races, so can hardly be surprised he is under the microscope.

That is probably the most controlled I have seen Garrity unlike his usual accident waiting to happen performance, fair play to him.

Kildemand needs his arse kicked for not clearing the track.

Kildemand just looked slow, was he riding the track spare (do they still exist?).

Bachelor did exactly what I expected given the conditions.

Great to see Lewis Rose fit and riding well.

Congratulations to Coventry on the win, but it seems the crowd forgot to turn up, worrying for the sport in Coventry.

So 3 of the play off teams known, and I still wouldn't like to pick a winner (although my money would be on the South coast right now).
