Northside Speedway Track

Recommended Posts

Have just heard on Facebook that the Northside Track has again suffered extensive damage to all facilities at the track including the air fence from vandals.

This could mean the end of Speedway for the forseeable future at the track or may be forever.

One thing is for sure however the mindless thugs who did this will never do anything with their lives.

This is the comment on Facebook : I don't know if l can complete this post without loads of swearing but we have just arrived at the track to find that the new pits we have recently built have been demolished the building housing the change rooms and toilets have been burnt to the ground wiping out the electric supply and a tractor that had been lent to us. With their final act they have slit all the air fence panels which means the end of Northside Speedway for the foreseeable future and Sunday's meeting is off. To say we are totally pissed off is an understatement

Dreadful news for the club. We, at Swindon, wish them all the best as they try to recover from this awful setback and hope that those responsible are caught and brought to justice quickly.

Sometimes you feel Sharia Law has it right. Just chop their hands off and they won't do it again.

Just for that -- and nothing else. :t:;)

Absolute scum bags to do this. It has taken a lot of time and effort to get the training facility as good as it is. The air fence was donated to the track after being bought from Newport, and will not be able to be replaced unless, the cuts can be repaired. Even then, one has to think that that would then be a target again, unless they can store it during the week, but the logistics of taking it down and putting it back up is probably not practical. The extended pits area was just under construction the last time I was there, and it must be heartbreaking to see all the work of the enthusiasts that look after it, repair things, build things and who give so much of their own time destroyed by mindless and jealous b*****d. I only hope that those responsible get caught and get taught a lesson, either legally or not. Lets hope the Police find out and remove those who also struck a couple of weeks ago. In the past the culprits have been caught and they were local scumbags. I wonder if the Motocrossers who ride the dunes and have an adjoining field are involved, as they tend to resent the speedway as they are there legally.

I know that security additions have been considered before, but it really is down to cost, and it is not practical to have a permanent presence on the speedway site.

My thoughts (sickened by the news) now go to our brilliant crop of young riders, their last meeting at Rye was rained off and now this, hopefully some more fixtures can be added for them.

The Rye House round has been rescheduled for 20th September.

Makes you want to take the law into your own hands, but only the retaliation would get punished likely but one of the little s##ts will boast about it on Facebook because that's how brain dead they are.Should be named shamed and photographed in the local rag if caught, never mind this too young to be named crap, they were old enough to trash the place the lowest form of life

I am not sure if it is feasible, possible or worth asking but tracks like Ipswich are likely to have spare dates so would Chris Louis consider allowing Ipswich to host this round after all he has been intimating that the future lies with these young riders so why not. I like many others would like to see some future talent. I would even put up some modest prize money if it came to Ipswich - say £500 if it is held at Foxhall Heath.
