crescent girl
An interesting and refreshing meeting coming up. Berwick have announced £10 admission for all, with under-16s free as always. From the e-Newsletter: PERRYMAN'S COACHES U-19 CHAMPIONSHIP: Help wanted! With just over two weeks to the big night, some sponsorships are still available for the British U-19 Championship at Shielfield Park on Saturday, September 12th. With Liam Carr and Luke Ruddick already listed along with Edinburgh's Max Clegg -- as well as places in the meeting, perhaps at reserve for youngsters such as Kieran Douglas and Lewis Miller -- local interest is running high. Of course, there will be a dozen or more likely lads from down south in the mix as well for what could be a first title on a series of stepping-stones up the speedway tree. Look out for the likes of Zak Wajtknecht, Ellis Perks and Josh Bates all having a major say in the outcome of the title. It'll be some of the most-enthusiastoc racing, possibly littered with thrills and spills, that we might expect to see all year! To help pay the bills, prize money and staging expenses (all down to our promotion, as this isn't one of the events where costs are shared by the BSPA) we are inviting supporters, either individually or collectively, and local businesses who might wish to be involved on another great speedway night for Shielfield Park to join in with a wee bit of extra sponsorship...... The 'shopping list' offers: 18 x rider sponsors at £60, 20 x heat sponsors at £60 and 18 x tyre/fuel/oil sponsors at £40. Interested? Sponsorships are being co-ordinated by Malcolm Leighton, who can be reached on malcolm.leighton2@virgin.net or 07899-724686.

allthegearbutnaeidea
Fair price, hopefully it will attract some of the Edinburgh lot down to support Clegg as well as some other fans to come up, I wish Liam and Luke all the best, they are our future in Berwick
crescent girl
To ensure the success of this final meeting -- hopefully of the season, but with no current guarantee it might not be the last-ever speedway event at Berwick -- the club still require assistance to balance the books for the night. With admission for adults and OAPs reduced to a flat £10, to assist in funding prize money and staging expenses (all down to Berwick, this this isn't one of the events where costs are shared by the BSPA) the club are inviting supporters, either individually or collectively, and local businesses who might wish to be involved on what might be a historic speedway night for Shielfield Park to join in with a bit of extra sponsorship...... Poor show from BSPA when they advertise it as one of their events.
smod
Poor show from BSPA when they advertise it as one of their events. All the more reason for Berwick supporters to get behind it, make it a success

crescent girl
Berwick's media briefings were issued well before Workington offered Edinburgh the date -- it only appeared in Armadale programme last Friday, had been "tbc" up until then. Unfortunate clash for Monarchs' fans, but hopefully there will still be a big crowd. Should be a good meeting, giving everyone a chance to see "the future of British speedway" in action.
crescent girl
A lot of promotion for this event going on last night at Shielfield, urging that a good attendance might go a long way to showing new investors and/or buyers that the Berwick public really want to see speedway, and the club could be a worthwhile investment of their time and money. Nearly 500 posters issued for display around town and country, advertising the meeting. Race and rider sponsorships going well, just a few left -- contact Malcolm Leighton on 07899-724686 to get involved on that front. And it was confirmed and announced that Max Clegg will be at Berwick next Saturday, not at Workington.

Looking forward to this meeting, having only seen one National League fixture before and that was in a downpour at Newport. Hopefully it will be well supported and the club gets good weather for it. After all the club are due a break weather-wise after previous FIM meetings have been badly affected by rain. Hopefully hosting this shared event goes off better. crescent girl
One line-up change takes out Michael Neale, brings in Ben Basford. Edinburgh's Lewis Miller is now No 18. Push is on for last few sponsorships to be taken up, according to e-Newsletter.

Bringing three new-to-speedway friends on Saturday, attracted by the £10 admission and the magic words "British Championship Final". Already seeing posters in places they haven't been before, well done.

screm
Another casualty is Birmingham's wonder kid Zach Wajtknecht - damaged his ankle on Sunday I was looking forward to seeing young Zach as he was potentially a winner of this event, now looks very much like a straight shoot out between Liam Carr and Josh Bates.

Still interested to see the likes of Bates, Liam and Max Clegg was impressive when Edinburgh were down in the league.
