lionsroar
It wasn't announced that Doyle was taking a tactical . It was said that the 5-1 in heat 10 means the lions can no longer use the tactical in heat 11. I think you mean demolished even though they cocked up the tactical they even announced that Doyle was going for double points in heat 11 when they were only 8 down! Anyway onwards and upwards although we are already top and will have first pick, i would choose Coventry personally

stevebrum
Well done to the Poole boys on a very comfortable away win and keeping focused on the job at hand. Expected win tho I'd say. No surprise Poole have topped the table, besides Coventry no other team has come close to them all season long. Just goes to prove that this team is strong enough with the starting 1-7. CB252
Yes, get it over with and put us out of our misery in the semi-final. I don't agree with SCB that any of the top four could be champions ~ it's a foregone conclusion already and has been all season. Getting a bit boring now. They'll still be lauding it as a massive achievement when there's only them, Belle Vue and Wolves in the League in a couple of years time! GoFastTurnLeft
True. Walasek being injured plus no Masters (who are 2 of their strongest riders) weakened Leicester a lot. Holder has been very hard to work out this season. Really struggles away from home but amazing at home. Even putting aside what Chris has gone through the last few weeks, I get it. He's still finding confidence after having a potentially career-ending crash. He's usually amazing at home and lately the GPs also, but for some reason he's still inconsistent away. He's had some great away scores, but also some single-digit ones. As said above though, whatever his result at the moment, he gets a free pass as far as I'm concerned. I still find it hard to believe that a guy who's going through what he's going through could ride the way I watched him ride on Wednesday. They'll still be lauding it as a massive achievement when there's only them, Belle Vue and Wolves in the League in a couple of years time! Mmmm taste that bitterness! CB252
Mmmm taste that bitterness! Lol. When something is a foregone conclusion at the outset is it really worth winning? Enjoy riding against yourselves. Once us and Swindon have been put out of our misery it won't be worth you bothering will it?

Perhaps i only heard part of the announcement then maybe they should have told the riders of their intention or done the tactical in heat 10 on wozniak when Watt and Holder who hadn't had a good night were in the race. Once us and Swindon have been put out of our misery it won't be worth you bothering will it? Glad I have more faith in my club than you do in yours. If Coventry get a good replacement for Kylmakorpi, (and I've heard a rumour of Pawlicki) you're a very credible threat. Let's not forget it wasn't that long ago you were top of the table. Swindon are definitely in with a shot of winning, and I certainly don't hear the same defeatist attitude from their fans. Hell, maybe Bjerre will remember he's a good rider and start bringing his A-game. (stranger things have happened)

Its totally the wrong attitude, and if that runs through your club then why bother lining up in March.
weatherwatcher
An enjoyable meeting last night even though the Lions lost, the team speach at the end of the meeting left everything very much in the air, Jason Doyle said he would head home when the season is over and sit back for a couple of weeks and give things a lot of thought, Simonz didn't give a definate yes or no to say if he would be back again, though all the fand that stayed behind gave him a very large hand clap and I am sure Norrie told him they want him back again and he just gave a big smile, it made my grandsons night to shake Jasons hand and to also get a picture handed to him from Simonz and then he even had the time to sign it for him, I really like that young guy and hope he does come back again for us. David Hemsley, had quite a bit to say about how things have got to go at the up coming AGM, but wouldn't really give away any plans for next year until the outcome of the AGM. TMW
I thought Chris's slide off was tactical to stop the T/R!!! Bit extreme especially as he came off at quite hight speed. You'd only need an 'EF' to come last........
weatherwatcher
Yes it has been a bad year all round we only got to see to meetings this year due to a bone infection in my toe that went from last Novemeber until late July to heal. When we did come it was so paiful, and it was shear hell driving back the 21 miles home. The surgeon I saw wanted to amputate my toe and could not understand why I didn't want the op done, will wait and see if it comes back again, before I cross that bridge. So hears hoping for a better year health wise and a better year for the Lions, I think there will be some major changes over the closed season and I hope that the management get get a first class team together for us next season. Something has got to be done with the overseas riders coming over for the start of the season here and thyen just upping and going home, with no thanks when their own season starts. It is not good for team moral and must be even harder for the management to sort out who to get in their place at such short notice. Either they come over stating that they will only be here for a few weeks, so they know how they stand, or sign up for the full season and stay the course.
