van wolfswinkel
Little interest for me at the moment but The Robins should give the Lions a good spanking..55-36 ish. DO IT FOR DARCE SWINDON!!!
screm
Obviously all thoughts will be with the situation that Darcy Ward finds himself in, but I hope as many people attend this meeting as IMO the riders there tonight deserve their support.
Anzum
Yes going tonight. Hope the riders come round after heat so we can show our support regardless of who wins the heat. All need to be together.
van wolfswinkel
Obviously bit of a subdued atmosphere tonight after Darce's injury , but good win for The Robins, good crowd, and Zengy unlucky not collect max. Just one win needed to gain play-off spot. Massive collection for Ben Fund which was great, riders coming around to collect with buckets.
GoFastTurnLeft
I'm hoping Darcy knows you guys won tonight and it put a smile on his face. At this rate it could very well be a Poole Vs Swindon final, and I'd be perfectly ok with that.
hagonshocker
Was a bit flat altho one or two moves by Bomber got the home straight roaring a bit...some decent racing and a professional job done by the boys....Zengota looked bloody quick...thought Rosco seemed quite emotional with his first interview especially when he said PK was on his way I'm hoping Darcy knows you guys won tonight and it put a smile on his face. At this rate it could very well be a Poole Vs Swindon final, and I'd be perfectly ok with that. He knows alright...and as for that final so would i my friend! stratton
Enjoyed tonight Zenghi was superb has really had a great season away he has surprised me tonight he was bloody quick,Doyley was pretty good too.I wish we could get him back Jason,on bend two which is tricky he has got it sussed out pretty good looked hairy at times chuffed he has progressed so much.Tonight was a low key affair all of us thinking of Darcy,Doyle was very good i like the Pole Wozniak he is not a typical pole but he will progress but an easy home win.

Grachan
I see the Ben Fund collection last night raised 3412.41. Not bad for a crowd of about 1500.

Zengi is looking pretty much unbeatable at home these days. The speed he showed for the last 2 laps to nearly have Doyley on the straight was immense. Do you know what, I would ride him at number 1 at home next month. He's the best gater in the team by a mile and I haven't seen anyone pass him at home. I would also like to know the stats for how many times he has won or had a paid 2nd in heat 6 which is the supposed hard race for number 4 at home. I bet he hasn't been beaten more than 2/3 times.

A ORLOV
A good result for the robins, especially the performance of Zengi who was very fast. Nick also looked good in a couple of races. Chris Harris carried out some brilliant passing but If only he could gate, nearly every start he was left behind. All the team rode well and with the inclusion of PK as a number 4 from today we have a great top 5 riders. Jason surely must be a target for next year and showed how good he was.
Sevy
I only get to the Abbey 2 or 3 times a season and had provisionally planned to go tonight with my 6 year old son. After the terrible events of Sunday I initially felt I couldn't face going, but the more I've thought about it the more I think the other riders will get a lift from seeing a decent sized crowd on the terraces. So me and my boy will be going...despite the fact that when I told him this morning what had happened to poor Darcy (I didn't have the heart to tell him sooner as he'd been so looking forward to seeing Darcy ride for the Robins) his eyes welled up. At the end of the day he's already a speedway fan just as I've been since I was a kid, and we need to support all the riders even though our thoughts may be understandably focused on Darcy at the moment. Well I'm glad we went last night to see the boys put on a good performance - the riders were understandably a bit sombre but I thought all the Robins did ok. As others have said Zengi was the standout performer and he was really impressive - even when he had to go out on Nick's bike in one heat. To think he was that close to being dropped from the team! I continue to be impressed by Doyley too - can't believe how much he's improved in the past couple of seasons and he just looks a class act. My lad really enjoyed himself so I'm really glad we made the effort to go - it was a decent sized crowd bearing in mind the circumstances & opposition, and a really good collection for the SRBF too - no doubt Darcy's accident may have got some people digging a bit deeper for a very worthy cause. My lad was just chuffed that he got to put some money in the bucket that Charles Wright brought over to us...and then Doyley appeared in front of us which made his night cos he recognised him from seeing the GPs on TV!

I don't think Zengi was ever close to being dropped. It was obviously between him and Kyle but it was a no brainer - and that is no disrespect to Kyle who was having a great season. Zengota has been fantastic lately and as you say a no brainer, Summers has done well too since he has come in, don't think the table toppers whoever that is will be picking Swindon! Big well done to all concerned last night on their performances in difficult circumstances and the amount collected is amazing.
