Glasgow V Newcastle Sunday 30th August 2015 Plkocup At 1.30pm

Would not rule out Tigers yet.

Remember 2013 when Monarchs lost the home leg in the Ko Cup to Diamonds by 1 pt and then went to Brough Park on the the Sunday and against all odds, won by 2pts

Going to be tough though not expecting anything from our reserves with Victor missing will need our top 4 scoring heavily to stand a chance but as you say wouldn't rule them out but think we may have too long a tail on this occasion.

Also got to give credit to Newcastle where they done the sensible thing by not over committing but packing in for a few shared heats they rode intelligently and very well on the day.

I fear Victor's absence at reserve is going to be the deciding factor in this tie , especially tonight . He's done well on small , tight away tracks and I really cant see Carr and Stichauer doing much at Brough . We did as well as we could today , but whether 6 points will be enough of a lead is questionable . Summers and Lawson were superb again until Richard must have had bike issues prior to heat 13 and just missed the two minutes when he appeared on Aaron's bike .

I feel for young James now , he has this reputation as a roller at the starts , and it seems everytime he makes a start now the referees bring the race back . That happened today and I didn't see much wrong with the gate he made and it was noticeable in a couple of his races that he was slowest from the start as if he was over compensating . Anyway we had some incredibly fast times today , either that or Mr M Mouse supplied the stopwatch cause the existing track record was beaten 5 times and Hynek 57.7 in heat 2 !!!! seriously haha

From where I was standing on the fourth bend there was no doubt Sarjeant jumped. For everyone who thinks he is being victimised there is someone who thinks he is at it. Im in the latter and other than at Kings Lynn last week, I dont recall seeing any injustices. With the process of maturity he will learn he cant get away with jumping the starts forever though with being influenced by Gary Havelock that may take longer than expected. The more he is defended the longer it will go on.

With the new averages out next week it looks like Sarjeant is staying in the 1-5 by a narrow 0.02. Lawson moves to No1 with Morris likely going to 5 which hopefully means we will see the best of him before the season is out.

Sarj has just jumped the start in ht1 at NCL! Aaaaarrrgghhhhh!

"Against all Odds" What a pathetic and self indulgent comment. You only won because Ludde changed lines on the last 4th bend, and let in Max. Nothing Herculian as you want to us to believe.

It absolutely was against all odds. What you haven't mentioned is that Jozsef Tabaka was injured in his last ride in the first leg and we had a weak rider replacement at Newcastle. We thought we had no chance. You might have been justified if you'd said Newcastle deserved to win by more than one in the first leg.

When all said and done, a rider will go where the money is, either in pay or sponsorship.

ive always said,a speedway rider is like a cat who every feeds a cat own.s it. no sentiment, even to the riders team ,i.e that harris in the elite /leg, think he rode for every team .on off this season

I was going to, but that was not controlled by either of the teams. Ludde's lapse was, and that was how you won. Nothing Herculian as the usual suspects would imply..

If you think one small error decided the entire tie, and so Edinburgh's undoubtedly Herculean efforts to turn the tie round are not to be acknowledged, would you like to bestow the Tsunami accolade of approval on anything at all which Edinburgh have done in the past 67 years?

I was just wondering is it ok to mention the Glasgow v Newcastle fixture on this thread.

Glasgow deserved to win the meeting and in normal circumstances even the highly critical fans would be happy but in a 2 leg affair we sadly missed Vikter and Nemo.

With normal temperature resumed the track held up well despite the early start with lots of fast times and a track record. although many fans like the 2 meetings in one day I've never been a fan. to many things can go wrong and also hosting the 1st leg puts more pressure on the riders and referee to get things finished quickly and with using r/r there is not much time to tweak set-ups change gearings etc.

Hopefully everyone will be fit for Workington away and Rye House at home.

Let me answer that on Tsunami's behalf NO.

First visit to the new Ashfield yesterday and I was really impressed. Facilities, presentation, everything was absolutely spot on. Even the little extras like people being on hand to help out or welcoming you in, real personal touch.

Didn't think much of the racing but given the TR supposedly went 2/3 times then maybe the track was just too good.

This thread is being taken over by oppressive people, BSF should be closed.

Pot, kettle, black. ;)
