chunky
The three of them Moore , Fundin, and Briggo seem to have exceptional characters off the track as well as on it. We will, probably never see the like of them again, more's the pity. Come on, think of how many more we could add to that list! Sad, really sad... iris123
As the result of a collision with Ron Johnson, the Australian speedway test rider, at the New Cross Speedway, the British individual champion, Tom Farndon, died without regaining consciousness on August 29. Farndon was one of the few outstanding English riders who did not appear on the Adelaide Speedway Royale. He held the British individual championship for two years, having defeated the Australian Dick Case for the 1935 title a few weeks before his death. The New Cross speedway is only 262 yards in circumference and the Auto Cycle Council of Australia protested to the Auto Cycle Union of Great Britain against the use of this track for test matches because of its size, which Fix this texthas been responsible for many serious accidents to prominent riders. Johnson is reported to be suffering from lacerated ribs and bruises as the result of the accident.
