daveallan81
Speedway Star reported heat 13 as follows: Wyer, Johns, Pendlebury, 68.0 Note missing 4th rider. Johns is riding as a tactical substitute for either Rudy Muts or Colin Richardson. One programme says Johns replaced Muts and Richardson finished 4th. Another says Johns replaced Richardson and Muts finished 4th. The yearbook thinks that Johns replaced Muts and Richardson did not ride, copying the result in the Star. There are only 25 total rides for the team. Can anyone confirm the result of the heat from a programme marked at the meeting?
TeamBouchard
I was at the meeting and have looked at my marked programme. Heat 12 - Roger Johns T/S replaced Rudy Muts in the white helmet. Colin Richardson, originally programmed at no. 6, was moved up the order pre-match to no. 5 as Mick Hines was 'missing', so was programmed to ride in heat 12 in Y/B. I have Colin Richardson as last in heat 12 and have written in a zero into his individual score-chart for that heat 12 ride, which was his 5th and final ride in the match (having taken a R/R ride in heat 5). Hope that helps.
daveallan81
It helps immensely, thanks very much. Richardson in 4th it is. You don't happen to know the Dons #8 for that meeting?
TeamBouchard
Just had a look at my programme and I hadn't written in a no. 8. However, looking at the 2nd half, I note that I have written in Ian Williams (who was not programmed in any of the junior events) as a replacement for Larry Ross in Ht 1 of the senior Event and again in Ht 4 as a replacement for Graham Stapleton. He also appeared (busy lad) in the Up and Comers Event after the four qualifying heats for the Senior event. No 8's who didn't get a ride in the main meeting had to have two rides in the second half and having just checked the internet and seen his link to being tried as a junior by Wimbledon, I am pretty certain he would be the Dons No. 8 that evening. daveallan81
Ian Williams sounds good to me. Thanks again.
