Therefore Adam Kirby...who had been due to ride #3 for Long Eaton...switched sides and wore the #1 jacket for the Junior Hitmen. The team numbering was adjusted to even up the rider advantages across the 6 heats. The racing was fairly even. Layne Cupitt fell while leading Heat 1, and Adam Kirby fell while leading Heat 4...and it was the pairing of Cupitt and Watts taking a 5-1 against Sam Woolley in Heat 3 which proved the difference. Then Rob Watts' win in Heat 5 against the Buxton pairing of Whitehouse and Woolley maintained the 3 point lead for the Invaders, and sealed their victory, with Adam Kirby having to ride solo against Cupitt and Geary in the final heat. Well done to all 6 riders for serving up competitive racing under the circumstances.
