King's Lynn V Swindon 9th Sept 19.45

I didn't actually say Lynn I said clubs, but just to please you  as the BSPA are a collective Lynn (especially with Buster on the Management Committee) have to take their share of the blame. If spedway is a professional sport, and we all have opinions on that, the foundation has to be a professionally produced and run fixture list which many people have been saying for years.

As stevebrum says the weather hasn't been that bad this year, so I cannot for the life of me think why the cut offs should be extended.

Oh come on BSI decree that it does, surprised you've let that one past :D

😉 what is the big problem?

If that happens, and it wouldn't surprise me (no offence to Coventry all clubs would do it) how is that fair on Belle Vue, Swindon, Kl and Poole.

Cut off dates are by their name cut off dates and should be set in stone. I hate drawing comparisons with football but can you imagine them putting off the FA cup Semi Finals....of course not.

Coventry actually don't have any fixtures to rearrange so apart from financially it wouldn't really affect them if the cut off date had stayed 7th. Horton was supporting the other clubs that wanted it moved as well as considering we have 5 meetings in a week

King's Lynn and Swindon both have meetings to rearrange whilst those teams racing on 7th now have a little space incase they are rained off

Correct, that's why you have March till first week of September to fit them in.

I know the play off dates have been altered when we have had dreadful weather in the season that has affected most clubs but the weather has been much kinder this year so there is no excuse.

The play offs are the pinnacle of the season and every team has plenty of time to fit in their matches. If they haven't then that's just tough. Unless there are extreme reasons there is no reason to alter the dates.

Saying the weather has been kinder.King's Lynn have had 4 meetings called off this season, and unfortunate for them 3 have come in the last 4 weeks. We would have comfortably finished our season in plenty of time but you can't legislate for how unkind the weather has been recently. If your meetings are postponed early in the season it is easier to fit them in.But when the later ones get called off it is much harder to fit them in.So what do we suggest the league programme to finish at the beginning of August and then leave the rest of August for rain offs.

Well they could always have used mid/late August to fit in the 50th anniversary meeting that Trees keeps banging on about :P

I see Belle Vue are running on Sunday to get the fixtures completed. That's one suggestion.

The league only has 8 teams, next season posibly 7 sadly. But the only way to to sort the problem with big gaps in the fixtures is to compress the league as ive said before, and run from April to September, with the gap for the World cup and a couple of gaps in the fixtures for rain off's. And then run the play off's in September.

It works fine in Poland (8 teams) and Sweden (7 teams) and it's certainly something to consider here, yer we blindly carry on running double the fixtures with less available riders and not many wanting to race here.

Thers a lot go on at the AFA.Its not just speedway you have all kinds of motor sports go on there.

Is the Polish season over?Just imagine the outcry if we took on Swindon this Sunday with no Batchelor,Zengota,(Ward sadly due to injury) and Lynn with no Iversen,Bjerre and Milik. The same people would cry foul because of all the guests needed to replace those.I don't think its just as simple as saying a day and lets go for it there are so many hurdles in the way i'm afraid.

If you want to go that way surely it would have to be 1 or 2 night racing for all, which would be another hurdle encountered

However we look at it there are hurdles to overcome to make any sort of changes to stabilise the sport and the EL. Doing nothing is no longer and option.

Taking the sport forward is going to need big hurdles to jump through.

From Poland, Sweden, Denmark

The pock cut-off date in early September is no. 4 on the list of things the pokc sycophants are too thick to realise that the pokc actually does more harm than good. The 'we'll move the cut-off to suit some teams but not others when we like' is number 6.

Sorry to keep reminding everyone of the dozen(s?) of reasons why we need to have a serious look at the negative features of the pokc which imo far outweigh the overdone and hugely exaggerated positive.

No need to apologize. Very few people even read your crap, even fewer take any notice of it.

That is number 24 of the 325 reasons on the list of why drop a cog is considered a pr!ck

You should, it is what most do. There is little value arguing with a fool
