Ommer Mon
Just seen on the BSPA website that Lewis has announced his retirement. I have to say I'm surprised but I'd never criticise any rider who makes that extremely difficult decision. Just like to say thanks to Lewis for his time with Cadley. He went from public enemy number 1 to Heathens Hero in no time flat and was great to talk to. All the best in whatever you decide to do in future.

iris123
Once you take a break from the sport it seems very hard to ever get the momentum going again
van wolfswinkel
Heard this announced over the tannoy at Blunsdon on Thursday..good luck Lewis...sadly a case of Bye Bye Blackbird!!! Difficult for some riders to make a living with ever-increasing costs.
Agrotron
Lewis has great potential and maybe he will come back for a dabble maybe he won't but I would like to wish him all the very best in whatever he decides to do.
Gavan
Lewis Blackbird has a very big busines interest outside of the sport. It was already widely know he was retiring at th end of the season to concentrate on the business. After another accident the other night , and seeing what has happenend to Lewis Kerr, he has simply decided to bring forward his retirement so that he can walk away in on piece and i for one dont blame him.
Ommer Mon
Have to say it focuses the mind in respect of one's self too. The late Tony Barnard (of Speedway Mail fame) once said to me "when you see the Dads start their careers and the kids retire you know you're getting a bit long in the tooth!" How true and, sadly, it's beginning to happen mote frequently!
