The Voice Of Reason
Interestingly, Vatcher and Ford both tried to book the same guest - Vatcher got in there quickest, so on this occasion you're wrong. If Vatcher got in there the quickest, why's he riding for Poole? As a matter of interest, where did you get that info from anyway?
NickRushbrook
Gomolski missing for Poole would strengthen them again. They have already gained from Morley replacing Starkey. Who will replace him? Swiderski? Karlsson? Lakeside stand to lose out as usual. Just cancel the meeting and consign this season to the bin. Just want to watch some competitive speedway for the last him match.
Guest
LAKESIDE HAMMERS PRESS RELEASE::::::::::::::: Wednesday 19th August THE HAMMERS CLUB OWNER’S THOUGHTS AHEAD OF FRIDAY’S MATCH AGAINST POOLE With the weather warming up and the Vortex Hammers preparing for their final Elite League outing at the Arena Essex Raceway against reigning champions and current League leaders Poole this Friday 21st August Club owner Stuart Douglas has joined in the build up to this important meeting. He has stated: “2015 has been a difficult season on and off track for the Club and the fans and whilst I cannot offer secure comfort regarding next year - that facility is not within my control - those that know this promotion will understand that we will fight every inch of the way. So, without wishing to create more drama around the details we just don't know, it would be great if all our fans that have visited us over the years come and see what I suspect will be a fantastic Elite League meeting against Poole and certainly the last for this season at the Arena Essex Raceway. The meeting sides starts at the usual time of 8pm with the parade of riders scheduled for 7.45pm. Tickets will be available on the night through the paybooths but may also be purchased in advance online via the Club’s website at www.lakesidehammers.co

marko
Let you into a little secret here, I have not actually attended a live meeting at Lakeside or indeed anywhere since May 2014 (this is down to multiple things but primarily the state the sport has sank too) however as this could well be the final time racing of any kind takes place at this venue i do intend to attend regardless of what team make ups are on the night. Once more for old time sake, shall we say.

The Voice Of Reason
'With the weather warming up'? Seriously? Where? What planet is Stuart Douglas living on? I'm sitting here in Nuneaton. There's been grey skies and heavy rain since 5pm. I drove home from work with my car heater on. All that we can hope for is the same again in Purfleet on Friday. It will delay the prospect of yet another shafting.

mdmc82
Lakeside have called up Max fricke, and the rye house pair Luke Bowen and Kyle Hughes................emmmmmmmm Info courtesy of the POOLE WEBSITE!!!!! Jesus, is that the best Lakeside can do at reserve!! Hughes was shocking last time. I take it Ashley Morris is riding for play off rivals Swindon tomorrow then? Surely even Greenwood or Ritchings would have been better than Hughes.
NickRushbrook
Is there any point to running this?? Message to Poole promotion: Please request, in the interests of speedway of course, this match be postponed as it will cheat the paying public out of a competitive meeting. I've effin had it.

Guest
LAKESIDE HAMMERS PRESS RELEASE:::::::::: Thursday 20th August 2015 THE HAMMERS TAKE ON THE PIRATES This Friday, 21st August, see the Vortex Hammers in home Elite League action at the Arena Essex Raceway for the final time this season. The opposition are the Readypower Poole Pirates, who are not only the reigning Elite League Champions but also currently head this season’s League table. The Pirates will include two current Grand Prix riders in their side in Australian Chris Holder, who is a former World Champion, and Pole Maciej Janowski. Holder is currently in fifth place in this year’s GP Series whilst Janowski is in eighth place. Completing the Pirates top five will be two further Australians and another Pole. Australian Davey Watt is no stranger to the Vortex Hammers fans as he rode for the Thurrock, Essex based Club between 2012 and 2014 and fellow Aussie Dakota North will join him. Pole Kacper Gomolski will complete the Dorset club’s top five. The Elite Draft Riders for the Pirates will be Kyle Newman and, replacing Paul Starke, who has to race at Edinburgh for his Premier League club, Somerset, will be Ben Morley, who was a member of the Vortex Hammers side in 2014. The Vortex Hammers will be led by their Swedish Grand Prix rider Andreas Jonsson but it’s a welcome back to his fellow Swede Kim Nilsson, who has missed the past six weeks Hammers action due to an arm injury. Regular Hammers British riders Edward Kennett and Richard Lawson will be in the top five, which will be completed by Australian Max Fricke, who replaces Dane Mikkel Bech, who will be competing in his National Championships Final. The Vortex Hammers Elite Draft riders are both from Rye House, Kyle Hughes and Luke Bowen. Hammers regulars Ashley Birks remains on the sidelines due to injury whilst Adam Ellis will be on his way to Germany to represent Great Britain in Saturday’s World Under 21 Team Semi Final. Teams:- Vortex Lakeside Hammers: Andreas Jonsson, Max Fricke, Edward Kennett, Richard Lawson, Kim Nilsson, Kyle Hughes and Luke Bowen. Readypower Poole Pirates: Chris Holder, Dakota North, Davey Watt, Kacper Gomolski, Maciej Janowski, Ben Morley and Kyle Newman. The meeting starts at the usual time of 8pm with the parade of riders scheduled for 7.45pm but for early arrivals at the Raceway there will be a series of Junior Demonstration races involving youngsters from the Lakeside Hammers Hagon Shocks Academy who will be riding on 150cc machines. The annual collection in aid of the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund will be made at this event. This Fund assists disabled and injured Speedway riders and people attending on Friday are asked to contribute to this worthy cause. Tickets will be available on the night through the paybooths but may also be purchased in advance online via the Club’s website atwww.lakesidehammers.co
foreverblue
got a real chance of winning this one although Holder hates the place we should clean up at reserve.
The Voice Of Reason
Got to say Stuart Douglas's words do not inspire much confidence for 2016: He has stated: “2015 has been a difficult season on and off track for the Club and the fans and whilst I cannot offer secure comfort regarding next year – that facility is not within my control – those that know this promotion will understand that we will fight every inch of the way. So, without wishing to create more drama around the details we just don’t know, it would be great if all our fans that have visited us over the years come and see what I suspect will be a fantastic Elite League meeting against Poole and certainly the last for this season at the Arena Essex Raceway. What a way to go out of the sport.........gifting 4 away points to Poole. I cannot think of anything that could actually be worse.

Message to Poole promotion: Please request, in the interests of speedway of course, this match be postponed as it will cheat the paying public out of a competitive meeting. I've effin had it. That's up to the home promotion to make that call - it is their business after all!! As for it being a big away win, I don't see it. Holder hates the place, Watt and Gomolski will be 'under par' (for very different reasons) and we are never quite sure what we'll get from North?! NickRushbrook
I will have to judge the match purely based on Lakeside's top 5 vs Poole's top 5. The reserves are so lop sided that I won't even count their points in my program. I have been very praising of the promotion over the years but I feel a little deceived over all this. There were TWO press releases earlier in the week hyping up the return of Kim, the warm weather and a 'fantastic' match for us to watch. What a load of old rubbish. They must have known that Mikkel and Adam would be unavailable so why not mention it then rather than pull the wool over out eyes?? For obvious sentimental reasons, I shall attend on Friday but normally you would have to ask the question: Why pay £18 to watch a guaranteed loss?
The Voice Of Reason
If this is our last season, and I desperately hope that it isn't, then I wonder which team would like to apply for the vacancy to be 'Poole's Sacrificial Lamb' for 2016 (and thereafter)? I am absolutely astounded that the Lakeside Promotion are running this meeting; in particular, given the circumstances of our possible demise. Two-thirds of the way through August - are we truly saying we could not find an alternative date? I feel sorry for our regular fans. They have been well and truly shafted.
