Bradders
Glad it wasn`t on SKY, personally hope they NEVER EVER come to the New Stadium but sadly that isn't going to happen. Right meeting wise and i`m still drained from it now. Ward did all the all hard work for the Robins, with Summers and Batchelor chipping in with points. Nicholls and Worrall looked down on power in the meeting and No idea what Cook was doing in his first ride, as we all knew he had less than a minute and just waited on the 1st bend till the red light came on. A crazy meeting with 3 races which i think took over an hour and a bit to race, saw the tension played out more and in some ways kinda of killed the excitement too. Special mention for Rider of the night for me in Stefan Nielsen, out gated Ward in nearly every run of heat 13 and is getting better and better for me.
BWitcher
Give it a rest FFS! Give what a rest, I've commented it sounds like a great meeting with a brilliant atmosphere. The kind of meeting we would all love to be at. As for the DAC reference, that's there because this thread was once again filled with his anti-playoff rhetoric. I'm also not the only one who has referenced him, at least two other posters have however DAC has personal issues and only picks out my post. Not my issue. Nor was I involved in any of the earlier 'discussions' with him. You are right though I suppose, let's just focus on the meeting. As said above, this is precisely the kind of meeting that makes speedway great.. it was tense just watching the updates so lord knows how incredible it must have been trackside. Even if it was scripted I don't think they could have come up with so many twists. Looking at the remaining fixtures now, Belle Vue could and should be aiming for maximum pts from here on in, which would give them 53. The Swindon v Kings Lynn meetings will be pivotal, Kings Lynn simply have to win their home match.. If they do, they still have a chance and it will go down to the 3 Swindon v Coventry matches, which could go either way at both tracks. It's going to be an amazing finish to the season for sure! mikebv
A great nights entertainment.... Darcy Ward and Stefan Nielsen 'men of the match'.... Speedway when done this well certainly delivers a great night out... Well done to both teams, full on 100% commitment all night....

mdmc82
Wow just seen Rosco's rant. Blaming the ref and the track being dangerous (not seen that mentioned anywhere else) for their loss yet nothing at all of blame towards Morris for wiping out another rider or Zengi delaying the start in heat 14 or his reserves being much weaker. Rosco comes across as a very sore loser. Very disrespectful to Belle Vue who won fairly
foreverblue
Cheating Swindle, if you can't beat 'em, wipe 'em out. Didn't deserve a point out of this meeting. Are you talking about Swindon or Nicki Pedersen!

In fact it was prepared brilliant like it has been for a while now under Colin. He's just a sour man and doesn't like losing. Utterly disrespectful to BV and actually very two faced but I won't go into that

acef
Be a bit silly if were involved in pro sport and you did like losing . I agree. What I'm trying to say is that he could be a bit more graceful in defeat and not spit his dummy every single time. Have a read of mark lemons take on it on the BV website. That is a dignified and fair response. Congratulated Swindon on the point. Despite that it could prove crucial to us in the end. Rosco is a big baby. Always has been always will be.
stevebrum
I also thought if a rider had a EL average then that had to be used but says Summers is using a converted PL average? They make the rules up as they go or suit it seems! No evidence required. Batch needed to drop his average to fit Ward, and it worked. Blatant as you like. Fair play u are one miserable sod , Swindon this Swindon that , if your management at Wolves got off there rear end and made some changes to your team the supporters might have a more optimistic outlook instead of "I'm a Belle Vue fan now , they are my second team " rip your own team to shreds rather than one who is attempting to give us a chance , we ain't broke no rules cause that's what a governing body is there for , glass half empty you are , be glass half full , Ward was available we got him , Kracmar was not good enough we changed him , Most of Wolves team poor , tell u what instead of trying to improve let's stick with our formula , impressive !!!! Yet another Swindon fan with selective reading. I have been saying for YEARS that the Aces are my 2nd team due to having good friends who are Aces fans. It isn't for me to add how silly that makes the post you made, it's becoming a robins trait. Why can Belle Vue not use an r/r for Zagar? Is it because the crash was apparently his fault? Why did they have to use a reserve for the injured Zagar?? It's instant RR for an injured rider at any point in the meeting. Gifting the Robins a point they wouldn't have got, shame. Aces51
I didn't think the Aces ever looked in danger of losing and Swindon were lucky to gain a point. The injury to Zagar and the rerun of heat 13 enabled Swindon to get within 6 points of the Aces at the end. According to the announcement at the track the ref could have called heat 13 even though the chequered flag was waved after 3 laps, albeit Ward didn't continue racing for the final lap and Nielsen was too far behind to make a difference. Ward was making no impression on Nicholls, who was second, so to call it as a 2-4 seemed the sensible course. Of course the rerun was a 1-5. So far as heat 14, I thought a tape exclusion counted as a ride but I must be wrong. In any event, Cook made light of the 15 metre handicap and won. Overall, some good races but not many. However, the atmosphere was electric and that together with some of the weird goings on in heats 13 and 14 made it an enjoyable night. It's a shame to read Rosco's comments. Sounds like a bad loser. Aces51
To add to my previous comments. Ward was brilliant,a joy to watch. Surprised that no-one has mentioned the number of Swindon riders rolling. Not unusual these days but can't remember so many trying it on from one team. Quite a few races called back and the ref had to speak to Rosco. For the Aces, a solid team performance with special mention to Stefan Nielsen, he has improved tremendously this year. I must have missed Nicki's participation in this meeting. Or are you just taking a swipe? Never mind, the pressure tactics other riders are showing towards Pedersen at the moment will soon be yesterday's news. Hope Darcy doesn't celebrate his max too hard tonight. GoFastTurnLeft
Looks like Sky picked the wrong meeting to cover this week, and that's from a Poole fan. Good job from the Aces, Bad job from the ref.

Halifaxtiger
I must admit I am wondering whether I was at a different meeting. True, you could cut the atmosphere with a knife but, aside from Cook's furious win in heat 14 and Nielsen's brilliant win from behind in heat 12, almost every race was decided by bend 2. The track certainly wasn't dangerous but equally it certainly wasn't good either. Some might have felt that the events of heats 13 & 14 might have added to the atmosphere but most where I was standing (third bend) thought it made the meeting degenerate into a pantomime. You could get away with the poor quality of the racing or what happened during those races but not both, especially when the meeting took 2 and a half hours to run. Where I was standing people were streaming from the stadium before heat 15, one using the word 'farce' very loudly. A Cradley fan voiced his displeasure at the 'sh&thole' of a track, while two lads next to me (one in his meeting of the season, another first timer altogether) confirmed they wouldn't be going again. One point - which I am sure will picked up - is that the starting marshal's error with the flags could cost the Aces a play off spot. In the first re run Nicholls was second, which would have given them an extra point and lost Swindon one. Ward was brilliant but for me the man of the match was Nielsen.
Grachan
Don't see much wrong in what Rosco is saying. He's criticising how the meeting was run, which is no different to what other people who were there have done. He's also having a go at the 3 lap race, and Swindon ultimately benefited from that. It was exciting on Updates though!!
