PHILIPRISING
For Gothenrburg, I think GotEvent was the one paying for GP to Ullevi since they own the arena. I don't know about Stockholm but likely it is the arena owner there too. For Målilla, I think the club (Målilla MK) is the one paying but I am not sure. I doubt Svemo has that kind of money anyway. STOCKHOLM is a BSI event as was Copenhagen
iris123
STOCKHOLM is a BSI event as was Copenhagen I think what trees is getting at is for instance Dansk Metals were the sponsor of the Parken GP and by coincidence Puk(also sponsored by Dansk Metals) got the wildcard one year slightly controversially according to some in Denmark over Kenneth Bjerre. That sort of thing.I mean we did have Mr Meridian also claiming as a sponsor he could get any rider he wanted into the meeting he was sponsoring,so ya know......... The money has to come from somewhere eh. Unless it's a BSI event ...... There has been three Swedes on both of the two GP's that have been held at Friends. Despite that, last year's attendance was down from the first year. I think the lack of Swedes fighting for the victory in that actual GP and in the total series have a bigger impact then the number of Swedes riding. PHILIPRISING
BOTH lack of quantity and quality right now I'm afraid. Sweden are pretty much where Britain was before the emergence of Woffinden. And it's much more of a problem at Stockholm than Malilla where the costs are massively lower and a smaller crowd is viable. Tony Rickardsson at the Friends Arena ... how he would have pulled in the fans! Haven't heard from Mr Meridian in a long while but I'm sure he wouldn't try to influence wild cards. ColinMills
Sweden is a nation that tends to rise to the occasion in world cup finals..david ruud had a stunning performance a few years back when ricko pulled out and went on to win the world cup, I think (maybe wrong) peter ljung also in that line up

screm
Sweden are World Cup Team Champions, hardly puts them in the same boat as GB.IMO And they won it on Danish soil which I`m sure made it all the sweeter, though at individual level Sweden are poor. Jonsson currently outside the top eight, and there`s hardly a Swedish rider deserving of a wild card pick, especially giving the performance of Lindback in Saturday`s GP Challenge. PolskiZuzel
Would love to see Emil back but dont get fuss on G Laguta at all. Dont think he would be top 10 in the GP series Have look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bds1Zg_KOdM and see for yourself whether G Laguta is worth making fuss of, or not. G. Laguta - blue G Zengota - yellow Pi. Pawlicki - white
BWitcher
If there's not a lot to pick between two riders then I'd say it's fair enough to pick a rider who hasn't had a chance before, or has had less chances. As it is, Lindback is the obvious choice, don't see how anyone else can have a claim to the place. Agreed, but that's not always the case. Lindback is by far the obvious choice, his performances in the SEC would back that up. Have look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bds1Zg_KOdM and see for yourself whether G Laguta is worth making fuss of, or not. G. Laguta - blue G Zengota - yellow Pi. Pawlicki - white Watched it, and it was nothing special.. Good ride but made very easy by the inept Zengota suddenly changing his line on the last lap. Had he stayed wide, Laguta had no chance of winning the race.. instead he moved over, giving a free run round the outside. Pawlicki wouldn't even have been aware it was Laguta coming as he expected Zengota to be on the outside of him, hence entering the corners a little slower each time. That of course meant Laguta could come across him into turn 3. Edited September 7, 2015 by BWitcher

screm
on a business front, which after all, bsi is, lindback seem the obvious choice too... If he`d narrowly missed out on qualification then fair enough, but he finished well down the field. With Sayfudinov currently refusing a GP return, and the current situation Darcy Ward finds himself in means there might be an extra wild card spot or two up for grabs, right now that's Lindback`s only hope. waiheke1
No, even if Emil and Darcy were available lindback would have been virtually guaranteed a wildcard. The other one likely going to hampel unless magic made top 8 in which case possibly 9th place getting it instead.

Hampel is stitched on for a pick, if Jonsson narrowly misses out on a top eight place then that would/should put him in front of Lindback.
waiheke1
If there are three poles qualified is hampel stitches on? Possibly he still is, but the point was I'm not sure he would have been if Darcy and Emil were available and three poles were already in. Lindback will be, and deserves to be, the first swede picked. If aj just misses out he will get one too, though not convinced it would be deserved. Edited September 7, 2015 by waihekeaces1
Tsunami
Emil and Darcy missing from Gp's, and never being crowned World Champ, is unthinkable. All that talent and never to be WC.

Trees
Emil and Darcy missing from Gp's, and never being crowned World Champ, is unthinkable. All that talent and never to be WC. But if it never happens they'll be in great company and never forgotten. Most riders are better thought of for their club exploits than their WC campaigns. Just look how Darcy's clubs' fans are supporting him at this time, that's where the love comes from.
