In Sweden maybe but on ranking's he is certainly a top 16 rider in Poland he still is pretty good you are going on Swedish form surely?

He is 17th in Sweden and 19th in Poland not as good as he used to be. in 2013 he was 7th in both Sweden and Poland so it's obvious that his form haven't been particular good this season.

Would love to see Emil back but dont get fuss on G Laguta at all. Dont think he would be top 10 in the GP series

I think there is too many shorter temporary tracks in the SGP for him to be successful. Then also with limited passing possibilities the gating becomes very important and gating isn't one of Grigorij's strengths.

R1- R2 B7 W5 Y9R2- R6 B4 W7 Y4R3- R12 B2 W6 Y2 So really only Kumla had 1 overwhelming gate Niamh

That would be relevant if you had chosen the three meetings we were actually discussing.

PNYC liking your post says it all given that he was part of the discussion.....

Better luck next time.

Forget Sweden in Poland Laguta has been pretty good in the Euros Emil knows that Laguta is one of a FEW who could beat him on merit on any given day.Are you seriously telling me Laguta is not a top 16 rider? lets be honest Sweden is down the bottom of the pile of his priorities.

Top 10 easily in my book, if the tracks were decent proper racer tracks unlike Cardiff a novelty day out he would be ok he is on par with Magic, Doyley,Holder,Lindback,Jonsson,Johansson,Harris easily at this given time. Edited by sidney

The post above yours explains he is 17th in Sweden, 19th in Poland.

It doesn't matter if your friend is Polish or how many meetings you've watched on a 'stream'.. That's the reality.

You weren't saying top 16, you were saying top 10 easily.

As for the SEC you put so much faith in, that disproves your point too as he is well behind Lindback in that.

He is certainly top ten at his best in my humble opinion not a FACT a word that you love and often get confused with. I certainly would take my Polish friends word over yours ( ie because he watches more live worldwide speedway than you.In the sixteen at the moment are you telling me he is not as good as Harris,Jonasson,Batchelor,Jonsson,Lindback,Kasprazak,.That is six i have named all the people i know who watch regular foreign racing LiVE tell me how good he is also ask Emil.As for Lindback he failed last night he should no way get a wild card just because he is Swedish he was eliminated last night.

It's not my word, that is the point.

It has been pointed out to you, Laguta is currently 19th in the Polish averages so is hardly pulling up any trees.

You like to put a lot of stock into the SEC.. yet you deride Lindback who is well ahead of Laguta in said competition.

The FACTS are Laguta is a complete non-entity when it comes to the World Championship.

If you don't enter, you're irrelevant. That is the reality.

Lastly, if your verdict is that Lindback should not get a wildcard because he was eliminated last night then the position should surely go to Freddie Lindgren then who was next in line?

None of them should be in it Jonsson is the only Swede i would consider, and if you look at W- Aces" RANKING'S he has Laguta alot higher than the so called official ones. You are right about one thing Laguta is a non entity when the WC is concerned a shame in my opinion. But we can still see that the GP series qualification procedure is still Flawed and if Lindback or Kildemand get a wildcard after last night being eliminated that certainly shows that.

Sid: of the riders who are not qualified for next year's series ( assume current top 8 stays as is) then my current rankings (1/9) have them:
Emil
Hampel
Lindback
Magic
Pepe
Kildermand
Vaculik
Prem pawlicki
G laguta
Lindgren

I think that supports the view that Emil hampel lindback and magic would be the fair choices. If Emil declined then killer to get a spot.
Of course that assumes the organisers allow 4 poles, hopefully common sense prevails.
I agree g laguta would be a strong contender for top 8, but his form this year is well down on previous seasons and doesn't warrant a wc on this year's form. The last few seasons it did. All imho.
Would add that I have no issue with Sweden being guaranteed one wc spot. Be very disappointed if they got 2.

And add also that the rankings above are as at end of august so don't take into account the gp challenge.

Edit: To add that if I adjust the rankings for the GP Challenge (not updated for any league meetings in Sept), then Lindback falls below Vaculik, and Lindgren moves ahead of G Laguta. Jonsson is the 3rd ranked Swede in 24th.

simply has to be a swede...that's one guaranteed slot taken...world cup champions yet no top 8 rider. how many chances can jonsson be given?..with 2 gp rounds, its clearly going to be a Swedish wildcard.....Hampels record stands out, and the fact Poland have 3 rounds with capacity gates, it looks obvious he will be back

But it might be that if any Swedish sponsor is gonna cough up the readies for BSI they will want Swedish riders in it of course ...... that's how it works innit?

NOT sure any sponsors have anything to do with it but two SGPs in Sweden, including one in Stockholm, is a factor.

Plus Swedish TV of course

Why are people so hung up on 'had chances before'.

If there is to be a Swedish wildcard, it should go to the best Swedish rider.. whether they've been in the series before or not shouldn't matter.

If there's not a lot to pick between two riders then I'd say it's fair enough to pick a rider who hasn't had a chance before, or has had less chances. As it is, Lindback is the obvious choice, don't see how anyone else can have a claim to the place.

So who pays BSI to host the gps in Sweden? Svemo?

For Gothenrburg, I think GotEvent was the one paying for GP to Ullevi since they own the arena. I don't know about Stockholm but likely it is the arena owner there too.

For Målilla, I think the club (Målilla MK) is the one paying but I am not sure. I doubt Svemo has that kind of money anyway.
