g13webb
For various reasons I decided not go, but have to say, a commendable performance tonight from all concerned to achieve an unbelievable win. Just goes to show, you should never give up , even when everything seems against you. An amazing Victory.......Considering our problems
Trees
So happy that the Stars eeked out a win, last heat decider too, how bloody exciting!!!! Thanks to them all, in particular our super guest Adam Ellis, sounds like he got it just right
whippy
We went along to see the Stars and it was tight all the way but we snatched the victory !! I kept the faith that NKI and RL would come good in heat 15 and take the 4 - 2 we needed to secure the win. Another 3 points in the bag !!! Haza
We was there also and to be honest I really don't no how we won we dug deep to get those 3 points and with a little more from Kenny B to would have been much easier and maybe even got 4 points KB managed to beat fast track riders and PL riders and when on gate 1 apart from that was poor - inspired choice of guests in Ellis and Lawson well done Rob . We might sneak a play off place but with KB in the side semi is as far as we will go .
whippy
........robert72........Speedway is not a place for a dog and I hope the promotion think again,I heard someone make a comment about why would someone bring a dog here,so I knew you were there. I am a massive dog lover so not anti dogs just think it's wrong. So well done Robert on a good bit of promotion work for Leicester Speedway. I would have gone tonight and for the rest of the season, especially as Coventry was off last night, but your remarks have completely put me off going after just one visit with Lucy now the ban on dogs has been lifted. Strange how you were close enough to hear someone say 'why would someone bring a dog here' so presumably they had seen me but you didn't. Perhaps you also heard Lucy barking at the Lakeside match and causing trouble all night? Well, no that's not likely either because she lay down on her blanket all night good as gold like she always is. The only time she woke up was when the people either side were giving her a fuss. But you know better and she shouldn't be there. robert72....... I can vouch for Gemini's dogs, Lucy and Molly and are as good as gold, they do not run around barking. Why should dogs not attend speedway meetings robert72 ? If our dog had still been alive we would have brought her along too.. Lots of supporters take their dogs. I can tell you that Lucy loves speedway and actually watches it on TV !! Now we will be unable to meet up with Gemini and her beautiful dogs when we come to Leicester to see the Stars since you have just put a spoke in the wheel. Aces51
As I have explained several times before ~ for company when I'm driving on my own to Peterborough and Coventry. Obviously Beaumont Park is not so far away but I'm still on my own when I get there. She is quite happy so what harm is it doing to anyone? You're happy, she's happy, what's the problem and what has it got to do with someone who doesn't know you or your dog. Dogs are intelligent and if she felt scared or frightened you would have to drag her into the stadium. Just watch the reaction of many dogs as they get close to a vets surgery.
foreverblue
As I have explained several times before ~ for company when I'm driving on my own to Peterborough and Coventry. Obviously Beaumont Park is not so far away but I'm still on my own when I get there. She is quite happy so what harm is it doing to anyone? That is exactly the point no harm at all and it could make someone else happy to see and fuss over a lovely dog when their team is losing and i am sure the dog would prefer the open space of a speedway track than having to stay at home. I have been to meetings where kids have been running around with no thought for the speedway they are just there because it was free and their parents have no control over them, they are a big nuisance in my view. How can they be the future fans if they show no interest and just run about being a pain in the backside. You dog in under control and not a nuisance, why cant parents control their children. Your post is laughable as if I am part of the promotion or I have the right to stop gem taking her dog,my views may not be solely my views but as gem said the promotion allow dogs so she can go,just I guess several people think it's not the place for dogs and they have an opinion like you do. Like I said I have never met the dog so don't know if it's friendly or not,my view is the safety of any dog. Back to the meeting, thought Kings Lynn won it on choice of guests,Ellis was outstanding and Lawson did a great job too,why do they carry on with bjerre,he is a weak link. With the large amount of kings Lynn fans there, stunned the team couldn't be bothered with a victory lap after.
foreverblue
I dont think you care about the safety of the dog, you just dont like dogs at speedway. As for the meeting, how Leicester can lose against such a weak team is incredible. How bad are they, yes Ellis was a great guest but surely they should be able to cover that especially as Bjerre was so bad. Stevebrum is correct this team will finish bottom.
The Observer
A great night of competitive speedway and yet much of the thread is taken up by whether a dog should be taken to meetings or not. Simple, if the promoter allows it, the dog remains calm (welfare of the dog paramount) and he/she poses no danger to the public then why the hell not. Kids running around the track perimeter without any parental guidance is a bigger issue for me. Back to the team. The injured cannot come back too soon, Masters, Auty & Lambert when fully fit would have been a match for anyone. The Lions as we all know have been dogged (no pun intended) all season with injuries, guests have filled in with varying degrees of success. What they need is a strong No.5 to backup Doyley who can ride Leicester but more importantly ride the away tracks. The Lions simply are too weak away from home. stevebrum
I must confess things look a tad bleak bit like I have been saying all along Stevebrum is correct this team will finish bottom. In the real world yes I think they will, however there really are Leicester fans who think they are better than some teams still.

Couldn't agree more about the comments regarding Lions team. People commenting about how weak KL seem to forget Lions also had 3 riders missing which has been the case for about the last 6 or 7 weeks. The guests that we get in never seem to be a great success, where guests other teams choose always seem to be a trump card, as illustrated last night ( Lions guests 8+2, KL guests 22+5) & the same thing happened in the previous home match against Lakeside. The fact that Auty as only managed 6 meetings, when he was expected to be one of the best FTR has been a major blow. But like you said Lions are far too weak away from home & no way is Swiderski a no.5, but i think when we signed him it was a case of beggar's can't be choosers. pointsmeanplayoffs
Some great riding by Adam Ellis last night, a smart guest booking. Walasek is riding very well at the moment, impressive at both home and away meetings this week. Should also be applauded for clearing the track in heat 15. As usual, when we get a big ht 15, the Main Dane steps up and delivers for the us. That's the difference between a good No. 1 and a World Class No. 1. Thanks Niels! As for the no victory lap, pretty sure the MDL match was ready to go at the end which is why they didn't get one. Good chips too, although the fish was lousy. I certainly wouldn't bow down to a couple of interfering ****heads who simply wish to impose their views and stick their oar into other peoples business........... by so doing you simply hand 'em their own way on a plate? If dogs are accepted at the track (and clearly they ARE) then you should carry on and take her with you ............. it will cause the stirrers even more angst with any luck!!!
