Leigh Lanham ?

That's the difference between you, myself and ChrisBlewett. We have been around Speedway for 50 years each, that's a 100 years of combined knowledge and we probably look further than the end of our noses and the Play offs, the bigger picture if you like, not quick fixes !!! I remember when Garry May was a kid and was struggling for form which I believe he never attained either !!! The saying goes "Those that can, do and those that can't, become managers"!!! I suggest you get a bit more trackside experience before you start challenging the more experienced view. (Like another 40 years perhaps !) Oh and do you think Jensen will be as loyal as LL and still be around for Somerset next year ? In your dreams !

Careful aroundtheboards this forum is about opinions, not right or wrong. I dont think Naj is necessarily challenging your view just giving a different take. I agree with his point where you said "Somerset faithful never agreed to your release" not sure about that. Having been watching speedway on and off for almost as long as you, I can understand your attitude regarding loyalty to riders, unfortunately sport in general isn`t like that now, its all about results. All riders know when they sign for a club that they may be moved out for no reason. Kyle Howarth lost his place at Swindon to accommodate Darcy Ward for instance.Gary May is and has been a very successful manager for Somerset ,regardless of his racing career. Whether Rasmus is loyal on not he will be treated the same as all the others . I personally have not heard a bad word from Leigh himself about his time at Somerset, in fact on his twitter feed he wished the club all the best.I too thought he was unfortunate and have supported him on this forum, but I do understand why Gary made the change, time will tell if he has made the right move.

Sadly you are right.

Loyalty, to me, is important but, these days it seems as if it is a word that will disappear from the English Language.

It seems the same throughout the working environment.

Loyalty is a thing of the Past.

Obviously my views and values are out of date. I only joined this forum because I am passionate about the sport and it's partakers. I am obviously out of line and I will bow to the younger elements superior knowledge and foresight and bid you all good sport and good day. Thank you for putting up with me for a short period.

Great to see Leigh get a place for the rest of the season, would have liked to have seen him at Rye House.

There is always a time for loyalty, especially if you expect it back yourself. Fortunately now, practically any rider who is replaced is almost certain to be rehired by another team, instead of say continuing with RR or guests.
